District 97 Race Heats Up

by: Taylor M.

Tue Oct 23, 2007 at 05:50 PM CDT

( - promoted by Matt Glazer)

As previously reported on BOR Dan Barrett is the only Democrat running against six Republicans for the House Seat in District 97.

All indications have been pointing to the fact this is a clear opportunity to get one seat closer to taking back the house. There are only two weeks left before election day and it is imperative that we continue to share our message with the voters and get them out to the polls.

Taking Back Texas has issued a $1000 dollar matching grant challenge to the Dan Barrett Campaign. For every dollar thats donated to Dan's website TBT will match dollar for dollar up to $1000 dollars through Sunday the 28th of October.

College Students are Poor (5.00 / 1)
That is why I am announcing that the College Demcorats of North Texas in Denton will be out in HD-97 this Saturday and the next block walking for Dan Barrett in Fort Worth.

The College Demcorats of North Texas recognize how important this race is to the future of Texas politics and while we are not a group of finances, we will provide the next best (if not better) thing for Dan, boots on the ground.

We hope to see you all over the next two Saturdays!

That is awesome, College Dem's of North Texas.

I'll be out there after the Mid-Cities does our Highway Clean up in Colleyville.  I hope to see you guys there.

And I always say that boots on the ground are far more valuable then money every thought of being.

You wish you could grow that much hair, Harold ;)

Now, we need to start growing the fundraising.

Dan has the message.  None of the Republicans are talking change -- because they can't.

He just needs some more money to deliver that message.  Any little bit would be greatly appreciated.
