Perry v. Strayhorn... v. Larry Kilgore?

By Karl-Thomas Musselman

Perry and Strayhorn pick back and forth at each other, using various family relation's statements against their campaigns.

Apparently there is another challenger in the Republican Primary, according to the Texas GOP list, Larry Kilgore.

Larry, and I didn't know this was possible, is running to Rick Perry's right flank. While he may be serious about running, he's certainly not credible. His front page declares, "My first priority as governor will be to submit to Biblical law given to us by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ. My job, according to 1st Peter 2:14, will be to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right."

His Issues page is equally... Biblical. I especialy like 1-40 lashes for crime of maliciousness, like graffiti, porn, strip clubs, though a close second might be execution for crime of deadly negligence, like DWI. He openly advocates pre-Civil War state's rights arguements, including re-instating the Republic of Texas.

I might also mention now that Barbara Radnofsky has a primary on her hands, Darrel Hunter has entered the ring. I don't know any more than you do.

Kilgore claims he got 30% of the r primary vote in HD 93. He also admits watching porn on his tv and pc. I thought The Bible required you to pluck out your eyes if you did that.

For all you folks running around saying Bush and the Republicans are the Taliban, Bush and Perry want to set up a theocracy ... here is your real deal.
Kind of makes you wish for me, eh? At least I am against anti-sodomy laws, although you probably did not know that.

So, where does Rick Perry stand on executing people who commit bestiality?

Is he soft on animalf**kers?

How much do you want to bet Kilgore's wife has pink hair?

I shudder just considering how many people will vote for this loon, but indeed all of those votes will come out of Governor Mofo's's tally.

I hope Pastor Larry runs a "strong" campaign.

Unfortunately there won't be that many voting for him that it will make any real dent in Perry's totals. And they are probably going to be significant. The Republicans in Texas remind me of the children being led to the sea by the Pied Piper. Which is why we need a Democrat who can get the Democrats out in greater numbers than the Republicans. Just the same, some Republicans may not vote assuming Perry will win anyway. That may be their vulnerability.

I'm hedging my bets in any case and not voting in the primary to make sure Kinky gets on the ballot. It will depend on who the Democratic candidate is after that.

Probably not. But if Kilgore garnered, say, 10% of the primary vote -- which he would no doubt trumpet as a 'tremendous victory for the Lord' -- that would knock Governor MoFo down under 60% (where he's currently polling). CKS needs to close that gap between the two of them to something on the order of 55-35, and she needs to do so before the January polling.

And in order to do that, she must abandon this latest whisper campaign of running as an independent.

Waiting until after the holidays to start campaigning (a scant 60 days until Election Day) isn't going to be a winning strategy. But as long she starts doing something -- raising her visibility, peeling Goodhair's hide back a bit -- I'll be happy...

I hate to say it, but the Republic is dead for a reason. It didnt work. And for a state thats been occupied by about 7 countries (am I right?) then it shouldnt be out on its own running amok.

NOOOOooo! not kilgore. that guy is a FREAKAZOID of the highest order! he lives in my city and has made several failed runs for office around the state. he used to be in the constitution party of colorado but he was too wacky for them.

anyway, he had the most DISGUSTING campaign signs stuck all over town last time he ran for a primary here. they had all this stuff from leviticus on it. saying stuff about gays burning in hell and other extreme extreme stuff.

he is truly a freakin' nutjob, and i would not get near the guy or his wacko politics. shoot, maybe i'll just write up an entry on him.
