Some short notes. Outgoing State Rep. Terry Keel has filed for place 8 on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, currently held by Charles Holcomb.
Now, in addition to Valina Bolton and Jason Earle, Royce LeMoine has entered the Democratic primary for the race. I've had little word on who he is.
(Gene Kelly has filed for the US Senate seat as well, like he has in recent years, though this is the far less famous one.)

You mean the Gene Kelly who won 2 million votes, 32 percent, and 17 counties, isn't the famous Gene Kelly?
Although, when it comes to candidates using other people's names to get far in politics, Gene Kelly isn't as bad as the time that J.C. Watts' dad ran for Labor Commissioner in Oklahoma as a Democrat. J.C. Sr. was usually known as "Buddy Watts" but decided to get listed on the ballot as "J.C. Watts"
J.C. won the Democratic Primary and then lost the general election by 38 points.
At the very least, Gene Kelly wasn't using his son's name to run for office.
