I hit the Post button and then went to take a shower. When I got back there was a window saying that attempts to access burntorangereport.com have failed. My comments were still in the comment window, so I hit Post again, thinking the message didn't go through the first time.

Guys look again. AP has a retraction on that story. People did NOT boo.

Look at TIME poll 52 to 41 to 3 favoring the President. Not too high is it? Was 46 to 46 before.

Thanks for the note on the retraction. I put it in an update. As for the TIME poll, as far as I'm concerned, it's an outlier until more polls back it up.

That doesn't sound much like booing. It sounds a lot more like enthusiastic applause, but you can decide for yourself.

Also, I tend to agree about Time being an outlier, at least for now. Rasmussen only has Bush up 4, and Zogby up 2, though Zogby's polls consistently had Bush down more than almost any other poll. Still we'll see as more polling comes out. It is worth noting that polls taken over labor day weekend are probably not very informative, since with so many people out on vacation you don't get a random sample.

I don't believe the Time poll at all until other ones come out. I'll be happy if Bush is up by 10 with a day to go, but until then, this race is tied up and the one who wins the debates will win the election, period. Also most Republicans thought the speech was great. I thought the it had great content and delivery, but my oh my, the spending proposals were out of control.

In a 3 way race its the President by 11 points.

A 13 point bounce from the Aug 5 - 10 poll.

Objects in the rear view mirror appear larger than they are.

Air America played that clip on the air. There were boos. I heard them. They are edited out on the televised clip, but they boooooooed. There was no comment from the pResident to show any respect.
