Houston Chronicle & Texas Observer Video from Secessionist Rally in Austin, TX

by: Phillip Martin

Sun Aug 30, 2009 at 10:10 AM CDT

The opening words are "We're tired of it! We hate the United States! Get out of our lives, get off our backs! MOVE ON!"

From the description of the rally and video (shot by R.G. Ratcliffe) --

The crowd also heard from Tracy Miller of Houston. Miller recently gained national attention after a confrontation with U.S. Rep. Shelia Jackson Lee, D-Houston, over the federal health care proposals. While Miller was critical of Jackson Lee and the Democrats, she also had no kind words for Republican gubernatorial rivals U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and Gov. Rick Perry.

From the Texas Observer's description of the rally and video -- we learn that the wingnuts Perry has riled up are now going to demand that he call a speciall session on secession:

Though Perry and the “pro-sovereignty” legislators didn’t show for the rally, Miller said, “I want them to hear this loud and clear: It is time for them to take up that banner and it’s time for them to take the lead and if they do not, if they do not pick up that banner and carry it high, then we will.” Upon which Miller dashed out into the crowd, took hold of a “Come and Take It” flag, and continued his exhortations. Along with other speakers, he called for a special session of the Legislature—next week—to take up the sovereignty-or-secession debate in earnest.

Tracy Miller is not even a constituent of SJL (0.00 / 0)
On a segment of Greta she admits it, and apparently tried to get into a Gene Green townhall and couldn't because she was not a constituent.

So why doesn't she go to her own representative's townhall (I wonder who it is) to state her displeasure?  It would not surprise me one bit if Ms. Miller is a plant (not saying she isn't a cancer survivor, and good for her) pretending to not be politically motivated--like the woman in Pennsylvania who was outed as a devotee of Glenn Beck after her townhall performance.

Eww, Don Wildemon is a friend, too (0.00 / 0)
