Liveblog: Fundraising Report Round-Up

by: Burnt Orange Report

Wed Jan 15, 2014 at 01:00 PM CST

Today is the day that campaigns and committees must report how much they raised through the December 31 fundraising deadline.

While the two leading contenders to be the next Governor of Texas announced their totals yesterday, there are still many others who will report today.

We expect a barrage of press releases from campaigns touting their impressive hauls, and will also be searching the federal, state, and local ethics divisions for campaign finance reports.

Below the jump, we'll be tracking selected races across Texas. Click "there's more" for all of the campaign finance fun!

We're tracking selected races across Texas, namely the most interesting contested federal, statewide, and legislative races, plus Travis County Democratic primaries. Several staffers are contributing to today's GoogleDoc and live blog.

The categories are pretty straight-forward. "Total Raised" is the amount reported as raised specifically on the January 15 report. "Cash on hand" is how much money the candidate or committee has remaining as of December 31. "Cycle to date" is how much the candidate has raised overall; these may not be available for all candidates today due to the need to do previous research. "Loans on report" indicates how much the candidate loaned him or herself on this specific report. We'll address outstanding debt in our commentary.

Here's the chart. Updates will run below, with the most recent update at the top.

The statewide candidate updates are taken directly from the Texas Ethics Commission website, and reflect the reports that have been filed and are electronically available as of this evening on the day of the deadline, the 15th.

Wendy Davis has her campaign office holder account reports up for her Senate seat as well as her campaign officeholder account for Governor. The totals reflect the two repots and do not include the Texas Victory Committee simply because it is not updated on the Texas Ethics Commission website.

The Texas Ethics Commission states that the Texas Victory Committee is "A Joint Project of Wendy R Davis for Governor Inc & Battleground Texas." Battleground Texas is the field organization powerhouse that is running Wendy Davis's field campaign.
