In the November 2013 constitutional amendment election, Burnt Orange Report unanimously endorses a vote AGAINST Statewide Proposition 3.
Proposition 3 provides even bigger tax breaks for plane parts than they currently receive, and is the pet project of Republican State Rep. Linda Harper-Benz — err, Linda Harper-Brown.
We understand that supply and demand in the aircraft part manufacturing industry isn't always steady. However, plane parts already get a tax break, and during floor debate on this amendment, supporters couldn't even determine how much this bill would cost underlying municipalities and other jurisdictions in lost tax revenue.
Our state is desperate for money to maintain basic services. We're turning paved roads into gravel because the state can't maintain them, and the Legislature wants us to give airplane part manufacturers an even bigger tax break?! We say no.
We unanimously endorse a vote AGAINST Proposition 3 in the November 2013 constitutional amendment elections.
