Some terrible news out of Pasadena: State Rep. Ken Legler, Republican representative of the 144th district, died earlier today of a heart attack. From The Texas Tribune:
State Rep. Ken Legler, R-Pasadena, passed away Friday, according to the Texas House speaker's office. He was 54.
The cause of death is believed to be a heart attack, according to his office.
Legler was first elected to represent part of Harris County in 2008. He announced in March that he wouldn't seek re-election.
Legler's survivors include his wife, Barbara, three children and one grandchild.
Such awful news. Our condolences go out to his family, friends, and staff.

Mary Ann Perez, Democratic nominee for HD-144, released the following statement on the untimely passing of Rep. Legler:
Democratic nominee, Mary Ann Perez, candidate for House District 144 (Pasadena) stated, "I was very saddened today to hear about the passing of Representative Ken Legler. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family." |
