Texas Stonewall Democrats Send $6000 to State House, SBOE Races

The Executive Board of the Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus (TSDC) voted unanimously on September 12 to contribute $500 each to 12 Democratic candidates running for the Texas House and the State Board of Education.

Democratic incumbents receiving $500 each include the following.

Valinda Bolton (District 47-Austin)
Diana Maldonado (District 52-Round Rock)
Paula Pierson (District 93-Arlington)
Robert Miklos (District 101-Mesquite)
Carol Kent (District 102-Dallas)
Kristi Thibaut (District 133-Houston)
Ellen Cohen (District 134-Houston)

Democratic challengers receiving contributions were the following three.

Pati Jacobs (District 17-Bastrop)
Loretta Haldenwang (District 105-Irving)
Kendra Yarbrough Camarena (District 138-Houston)

The final two contributions were made to two Democrats who are strong challengers to Republican incumbents in State Board of Education races:

Rebecca Bell-Metereau (District 5)
Judy Jennings (District 10)

TSDC is the officially recognized lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) caucus of the Texas Democratic Party.

On our end (and on a much smaller budget this year), we donated $1400 to the Denton County Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign fund to help elect all of our local and statewide Dems.
