Railroad Commissioner Blog
By Byron LaMasters
I was just browsing Texas blogs to conclude my post on blog reaction to Rick Perry's attack on bloggers. In the search, I ran across Voice in the Wilderness, a conservative Texas blog that noted that Texas Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams has a (sort of) blog. He's a Republican, and the blog isn't nearly as cool as Aaron Pena's blog, but it's good to see another elected official join the blogosphere. I wonder what Commissioner Williams will have to say to Governor Perry's assertion that "most blogs seem to be run with a pretty severe liberal bent".

I like how even the conservative bloggers think Gov. Good Hair is fulla shit on the blog issue.
Yeah.. it's nice. If Perry would just attack liberals/Democrats, the conservative bloggers would be with him. Instead he attacks the blogosphere as a whole, so no one will step up to defend him... haha. The closest any conservative blogger came to defending Perry was Owen at Lone Star Times who still managed to call me a "good guy all around".
Yes, the blogosphere put out a virtual hit on Perry a year ago, which you partially responsible, and may have left a permanent mark on his image. But no, Perry is the bad guy for badmouthing bloggers.
I'm sure you expected him and his office to forgive and forget.
Hmm.. well I don't know if the above post is by THE Geoffrey Conner, former Texas Sect. of State or someone posing as him, but it doesn't really matter.
I don't give a shit what Rick Perry thinks of me. I wrote a year ago that I take it as a badge of honor that one of the stupidest governors in Texas history doesn't like me.
The governor can choose to attack or embrace the blogosphere. I'm sure that conservative bloggers could do a lot to help his campaign in the upcoming GOP primary if Perry chooses to embrace them. So far, Rick Perry has gone out of his way to attacks not just liberal blogs, but the blogosphere as a whole. That's his loss - not mine.
