Royce West from Albuquerque
By Byron LaMasters
State Sen. Royce West (D-Dallas) just spoke on KRLD 1080. He said that he and the other 10 Democrats are in Albuquerque, and are willing to stay there for 30 days (for the entire session). He said that the Senators are in contact with Republicans in Austin, and that the Democrats are willing to come back if David Dewhurst puts the blocker bill back into effect. That would require a two-thirds vote to bring up any bill out of order, as is the senate tradition.
Interestingly, I heard a No on 12 radio ad during the comercial break after the interview.

Just wanted to say good job on your coverage. I'm at work, a Marriott ironically, and BOR is doing great of keeping me up with the latest.
Ditto. I've been too busy to link to your coverage along with Charles', but it is first rate!
I commend you and the democratic senate for standing your ground, they have been trying to take complete control. You were elected to stand between us and them.I cant see any other way for our race, to be herad and understood. Those of us(African Amercians), who have had first hand injustice due to these rules and regulations, applaud all of you for standing your ground and refusing,to lose the what little representation we have, did we just cease to matter, or what? Oh they think they know what's good for us? If they had the right answers then their children wouldn't be drug addicts and alcoholic. You can't regulate me if you can't control your own family. I for one hope you never come back to the capital for this vote, they are pushing our country into
something that will only benefit them, they
don'work this world we do, what every you all do, I pray that we not sell out our future and our freedom, for what they have in mind, it is not in
our best interest as a race of people. We still
crave justice and equality. My house hold is behind all of you, all the way.!!!!!!!!!
