The Student Events Center has been viewed as just the "premier event planning body of the University." However, I want to be the one to change that view. The Student Events Center is more than that; it is a place where one can sincerely and passionately pursue their interests, while at the same time learning about others through committee interaction. The only way to achieve this is through accountability (through information dissemination), unification, and understanding. I believe that American plurality is represented well in the Student Events Center's diversity of programs. However, there is still more to be done in terms of representation. Only through these programs will students get to discover diverse ideas that consequently occur through interaction. Education about passion and diversity is key. I want to set that precedent next year.
