Combined State & Federal Experience

by: markkendrick

Sat Aug 30, 2008 at 11:18 AM CDT

Sarah Palin was sworn in Governor of Alaska on Monday December 2nd 2006.  Which began her State & Federal experience and where she currently still serves.
Sarah Palin would have 2 years 1 month and 18 days of State & Federal experience when she takes the office of VP.

Barack Obama was sworn in the Illinois State Senate on January 7th 1997, Which began his State & Federal experience.
Barack Obama was sworn in to US Senate on January 4th 2005. Which is where he currently still serves.
Barack Obama would have 11 years and 13 days of State and Federal experience if he were to win the Presidency on the day he takes the oath of office.

If John McCain were to serve out an entire 8 year Presidency.
and, Sarah Palin were to win the election in 2016.  She would have a total of 10 years 1 month and 18 days of State and Federal experience when she took the office of the Presidency.

So the Sarah Palin of 2016 would have10 months 25 days less experience than the Barack Obama of today.

John McCain says "She's ready to be President on day one".

GOP Might Delay Convention Because of Hurricane

by: markkendrick

Fri Aug 29, 2008 at 00:31 AM CDT

MSNBC reported that the GOP might delay their convention because of Hurricane Gustav, expected to hit land Monday evening.

Maybe they just don't want to compete with the news coverage.

Maybe they don't want to show Bush doing something other than crisis planning during another hurricane (President Bush is scheduled to give Keynote address Monday Night)

Maybe they just need to retool all the speeches after Barack Obama's inspiring acceptance speech and this is an excuse.

OR MAYBE JUST MAYBE this is a sign Kay Bailey Hutchison or Bobby Jindal are the VP pick and since the hurricane is hitting the TX and or LA coast they will not be able to make the convention?

Just a thought.
