This has been a long tiring week. As you know, I am a member of the Leadership Team of Move To Amend. I represent Coffee Party on that Executive Committee.

This week Move To Amend had its retreat in Portland Oregon where we discussed the path that must be followed to amend the constitution through a complete multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, and multi-racial democracy movement that supersedes age, gender, or socio-economic hurdles. It was grueling but the initial path was laid out with options for continued improvements and tweaks.

This week I am honored to host someone I consider a friend given that we can maintain civil discourse even as we are at diametrically opposing ends of the political spectrum. Today will be Liberal Egberto vs Conservative Bob and you. I am a far left Liberal that believes only through a peaceful revolution by the middle class, poor, and moral wealthy will this country morph into a country that lives up to its ideals. Bob is a staunch Conservative that for all practical purposes believes in the status quo and in some cases the regression of Liberal induced gains that women, disabled, and minorities have made since the inception of a an original constitution that gave full rights to just 10% of the population.

Bob Price is a political analyst and commentator for TexasGOPVote.com. He is an expert on border security and illegal immigration and also covers stories of local, state and national interest from a Conservative Texas Perspective. He also volunteers with US Border Watch, a civilian volunteer border security organization, as Communications Director. He has been with USBW for over four years.

Price is also a regular political commentator on Houston's Fox 26 and KHOU, Houston Channel 11 where he regularly debates on a wide variety of political issues. He is frequently asked to speak to organizations on the topic of border security, immigration reform and 2nd Amendment issues.

He is a US Air Force veteran, having served overseas during the Cold War and is a retired Lt. Col. from the US Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol where he served in command, public relations, emergency services and youth education capacities.

This week's show

The NRA is in Houston this week. I was supposed to join the Bluebonnet Brigade to protest their presence in Houston, their immoral purchase of politicians, and simply their incoherent arguments. Lo and behold the time conflicted with this show and I figured my commitment to the show must be fulfilled.

Deborah Mowery, one of the participants, will be calling into the show with updates. If she gets her pictures uploaded during the show I will post them.

The second topic I want to cover is more general. It is called America in decline. I just came back from Starbucks where I had a long discussion with a Filipino immigrant with a lot of friends in my area that made the book What's the Matter with Kansas prescient. He could not understand why his very hard work "to attain the American dream" will ultimately fail because of America's new reality.

Heated Confrontation As GOP Congressman & Constituents Schooled By Businessman (VIDEO)

Middle Class America has a new hero. His name is John Mullins, a 57 year old Auburn, Alabama businessman. America needs a few million more in the delusional congressional districts that have chosen to allow Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and a few other Right Wing hacks to distort their inherent intelligence and create an alternate state of reality.

Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers of Alabama's 3rd district conducted according to oanow.com his "Congress on Your Corner" town hall meeting in April. Mr. Mullins, a constituent got completely fed up while listening to as he called it "crazy talk" from Auburn resident and constituent Carl Gagliano. The GOP congressman seemed completely shocked and remained speechless.

The video captures Mr. Mullins castigating the Gagliano and giving the GOP congressman a schooling in economics that is long overdue not only to this congressman but to all those supporting the proving fraud that is the austerity being imposed by Right Wing Republican and Right Wing Conservatives throughout the world. Mr. Mullins makes very important statements that are all backed up by facts.

Sequester negatively affecting small business people
This congress has done much hurt the economy
Cutting funding in a recession hurts customers which hurts business
Deficit spending in times of war and times of recession/depression is economically sound
Government spending should not be cut during recessions since it is the only entity that has the money to spend.
Republicans attempted austerity during the Great Depression which exacerbated the depression. It put millions more out of work (you would think they would have learned from history).

It is refreshing to see a resident, a constituent, a business person, and a patriot, not afraid to confront a room filled with the vociferously uninformed. This is what it takes to recover a country from a destructive, deceptive, and false ideology.

For too long throughout this country Tea Party Right Wing Libertarian Republicans have been at town halls unchecked giving their fact-less positions more sway in the body politic than warranted. This has given America the dysfunctional congress it has. As more John Mullins, make their voices heard, normalcy and prosperity will return.

Reagan's Confidant Says Republican Party Is A Coalition Of Gangs That Stands For Nothing (VIDEO)

President Ronald Reagan's former budget director David Stockman excoriated the Republican Party in an interview he gave to Newsmax TV. While he attacked President Obama for not cutting defense in an era where America is the only super power, in no uncertain terms he laid blame for the predicament of America squarely on the Republican Party.

After Newsmax Anchor David Nelson asserted that many believe the house is divided (the Republican Party that is), he asked David Stockman if he believed Republican leaders like Ryan, Boehner, Rubio, Paul, or anyone else could unite the party. Stockman shot back with a response one would not expect in a Newsmax interview.

No. I don't because I think the Republican Party is not really a party. It doesn't stand for anything except reelecting itself. It's a coalition of gangs....

The Neo Cons which I have no use for are only oriented to an aggressive imperialistic foreign policy, a big defense establishment, and suppression of our civil liberties. That's a bad. I am against that.

The Tax Cons want to just cut taxes anytime any day regardless of the fiscal situation. That has gone to absurd lengths. I oppose that.

The Social Cons, social policy people, the right to life issue, gay marriage and all that, that's irrelevant to governing a democracy in a free society.

That is basically the heart of the Republican Party. In that mix how can you find anything that is going to stand for conservative economics, fiscal rectitude, free markets, sound money; it's not there. The Republican Party is basically irrelevant to the economic crisis that faces the country.

David Stockman has been a critic of the Republican Party for some time now. I wrote the article "David Stockman: "get out of the markets and hide out in cash" Corruption Of Capitalism" a few weeks ago where Stockman was quoted saying "This debt explosion has resulted not from big spending by the Democrats, but instead the Republican Party's embrace, about three decades ago, of the insidious doctrine that deficits don't matter if they result from tax cuts."

It is not the intent of this piece to give David Stockman a pass. After-all, he was Reagan's supply side, trickle down, voodoo economics doctrinaire. He is more Randian than not and as such should be considered anti-social and immoral based on his animosity towards a society that provides equal access to all. His belief system just provides equal access to all those that are able to acquire and control capital in non-productive manners. The intent of this article is to illustrate that even a supply side hack has come to the realization that the vast blame of the destruction of the American and world economies lay at the wild intransigence of what the Republican Party has become.

Mr.. Stockman seems to be progressively sharpening his criticisms in all venues as the ineptitude and intransigence of his party continues. One can only hope that he will trigger what many are hoping for, a rebirth of a viable Republican Party that stands for real American values, a party that stands for middle class values, a party that remembers the time when it actually did good. Real Liberals need a viable conservative party to ensure the purity of liberalism is maintained and do not succumb to a lazy absence of a legitimate pushback.

Last week for the first time in years Politics Done Right went dark. Every one of our radio hosts had engagements and could not fill in. DelAnn Williams, our Director handling human resources is looking for two producers that can fill in in my absence and cohost as well. If you are interested please contact us.

The past 10 days have been extremely eventful and it is evident with the number of prescient blog posts I was able to write over that time. In fact it was kind of hard to select the topic for the show today. I decided to talk about consequences of the Boston Marathon Bombing, the economic fraud effected by economists Carmen Reinhart and Kenneth Rogoff that is destroying our economy and the economy of the world, and the lack of empathy and callousness of our politicians, Democratic and Republican alike who fixed the sequester inconvenience on the wealthy even as they ignore the pain felt by the poor and the middle class.

This will be a very substantive and uplifting show.

Dylan Quick Slashes 14 Students At Texas Lone Star College-Knife Control Legislation? (VIDEO)

The violence in America continues. Another student, this time at Lone Star College in Texas attacked fellow students. Fourteen students were injured. It seems this is yet another student with some sort of mental problem. KHOU reported that

In the confession, 20-year-old Dylan Quick reportedly told detectives Tuesday's attack was part of a long-held "fantasy" he had since his childhood.

"In a videotaped confession, he admitted he stabbed the complainants with an X-Acto knife and a scapula [sic] because of his fantasy to kill people," said a prosecutor. "Apparently there are more than six complainants, and a bloody knife tip was removed from the chest from one of the complainants."

The charges against Quick were read in court, but he wasn't there out of concerns over his mental health. Quick has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault.

The student is accused of going on a stabbing spree at Lone Star College's Cy-Fair campus, injuring at least 14 people.

The sheriff's said Quick told investigators he'd had fantasies about stabbing people to death since he was in elementary school, and Quick indicated he'd been planning the attack for some time.

I was having coffee with Marc Croes, a liberal friend of mine and community activist. He said he received an email from one of his conservative friends stating "I am waiting for the liberals to introduce knife control legislation!". Marc answered, "There were 14 injured in Texas' knife attack today. A few hours earlier, 13 died in shooting spree in Serbia. I'm just saying."

While Marc's exchange was rather amusing on the surface, it has a very important message. It provides a real life example of the outcomes depending on weapons used.

Opponents of gun control love to counter that if there are no guns people will still find a way to effect their killing. That is absolutely true; however the magnitude is that much less.

Most students were able to run away from the knife wielding student. It is hard to outrun a bullet. Multiple students were able to position themselves in order to jump the attacker and subdue him. How many must be shot before one can jump to subdue a gunman with multiple guns with extended magazines.

This Texas incident should be used as a catalyst to illustrate why sensible gun control is necessary. We cannot stop crazy people from attempting to do harm.

Full background checks will catch a percentage of the mentally impaired or the criminals trying to get guns legally. Making the sale of extended magazines illegal will reduce the amount of carnage as the opportunity to subdue the gunman during a magazine change comes much quicker. There other helpful controls like a waiting period that may allow a suicidal person to reconsider.

We cannot take guns away from everybody. We cannot stop all people that are attacked either with a gun or other weapons from possibly dying. We can however pass laws that minimize that possibility while ensuring that those who want their constitutional right to bear arms are honored.

My guest today is Sally Swisher of the "Don't Do Koch" campaign, which kicks off April 1st. No, its NOT too late to get involved, the campaign lasts all month.

By handing out "Don't Do Koch flyers" (that look like Penny Savers) at supermarkets that sell Koch Brothers products, active citizens like you across the U.S. are offering fellow shoppers and fellow Americans the opportunity to buy alternative products instead. With this information in hand, we can avoid spending our hard-earned dollars on products that enrich these infamous oil barons who symbolize partisanship, greed, injustice, and the corrupting influence of money in politics.

This week was an eventful week. This week the Center For Investigative Reporting released a report that details the collapse of quickly providing benefits to veterans under President Obama. Not much was made of the report in the mainstream media. Jon Stewart did a scathing monologue on the issue that got my attention.

As I stated in the blog post I wrote on this, I am ashamed that I have not spoken more on this issue, every American should be ashamed that we have not done more for our veterans, and President Obama must take responsibility for at minimum not using his bully pulpit to get emergency funding to ensure this is resolved.

The Supreme Court debated whether DOMA is constitutional as well as whether California's Proposition 8 is constitutional. I did not write any blog posts on these cases, however I have written many a few months back on this issue that I will include in my list of blog posts below.

Jon Stewart - Americans Should Be Ashamed of Our Treatment Of Veterans (VIDEO)

I am ashamed of myself for not doing my small part to make this an issue that is publicized and one to fight for. America should be ashamed of itself for this willful ignorance. Most importantly President Obama should be ashamed of himself for not leading effectively in solving the problem of veterans getting the benefits they've earned for going to war. Most Americans are oblivious of the terror most of our veterans faced on the battlefield and the struggles they must deal with as they are reintegrated into society.

Everyone loves to be patriotic on the Fourth of July, on Veterans Day, and at times when the country's uniformed soldiers are performing. Yet as one goes home after singing the Star Spangle Banner and America the Beautiful, most forget that the soldiers that were thanked with words deserve the corresponding deeds.

It is true that on any giving day, the mainstream media will provide a nibble or antiseptic snippet of the plight of the veterans that are waiting for their benefits. That comedian/satirist Jon Stewart is the one trying to make this an issue and assigning blame where it really belongs, speaks poorly of our entire mainstream media.

President Obama must be commended for providing budgets with large increases in veterans' benefits. President Obama made a whole lot of promises to veterans and fulfilled most. Michelle Obama has been working with veterans and military spouses to match them with private jobs. That said, having great benefits is one thing. Being able to access it is another. According to the Center for Investigative Reporting, veterans are waiting over a year for their benefits.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has failed to provide key information to Congress and the public that shows the agency's ability to quickly provide service-related benefits has virtually collapsed under President Barack Obama.

Internal VA documents, obtained by the Center for Investigative Reporting and authenticated by the agency, reveal that delays newly returning veterans face before receiving disability compensation and other benefits are far longer than the agency has publicly acknowledged. The documents also offer insight into some of the reasons for those delays.

The agency tracks and widely reports the average wait time: 273 days. But the internal data indicates that veterans filing their first claim, including those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, wait nearly two months longer, between 316 and 327 days. Those filing for the first time in America's major population centers wait up to twice as long - 642 days in New York, 619 days in Los Angeles and 542 days in Chicago.

The ranks of veterans waiting more than a year for their benefits grew from 11,000 in 2009, the first year of Obama's presidency, to 245,000 in December - an increase of more than 2,000 percent.

Jon Stewart in the video below provides a strong critique of government and specifically President Obama. He makes a salient point that could be paraphrased as follows. Republicans can be blamed for much of the bad that is occurring in government. On this specific issue the President must accept responsibility and ensure that solutions are effected. After all, as the head of the party that promotes the truth that government makes a difference and only government can do certain things, showing failed government by having a broken VA system could insure that the party that hates government is returned to power.

This infographic is probative. The VA has released a new plan called Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Strategic Plan To Eliminate The Compensation Claims Backlog dated January 25^th, 2013. This plan maps out a strategy to get the waiting time down to under 125 days.

President Obama is pushing very hard to get gun legislation through Congress. President Obama is pushing very hard to get comprehensive immigration reform. Every special interest from bankers, to drug makers seems to get waivers or special attention when it is deemed an emergency. The treatment of our veterans is an emergency. It is likely costing lives and livelihoods.

The inadequate dispensation of benefits to veterans is not the fault of our brave soldiers. It is of an incompetent process. It is time that every veteran is allowed to file for benefits and get them immediately. Every American files their taxes and gets their returns on the assumption that they are being truthful. Cheaters can be prosecuted at a later time. We owe at least that to our veterans.

What a crazy week. First we continue to see President Obama fell into the debt debate trap as opposed to the employment debate. We get the selection of a Latin American pope who believes strongly in humility, social, and economic justice, a tenet that will have many call him a socialist. A state Republican Congressman accidentally told a truth we all knew about, it is âgood Republican politics to oppose the black guy in the white houseâ. A Republican Senator comes out in favor of gay marriage after his own son comes out as gay; a lack of empathy for others but the desire of sympathy for his own. Michael Moore suggests that the demise of the NRA will occur when the tragic photos of the gun violence in Newtown are leaked.

This week's show

Hugo Chavez died on Tuesday. I did an iReport for CNN and wrote the blog post "Venezuela's Hugo Chavez Dead: Hero Of The Poor And Middle Class In Words & Deeds". I got excoriated for it both by many at the CNN site and via emails from as far as United Kingdom. I also got messages that said I was brave to take a position out of the mainstream of US thought. An exile from Venezuela took me to task because I did not live in Venezuela.

Those who attacked me failed to see the most important point I was trying to get across. Hugo Chavez was the creation of the Venezuelan oligarchy, the Venezuelan plutocracy. He was that icon the poor and suffering middle classes placed their hope in to make a change.

If we know that our media is corporate controlled and misleads or turn a blind eye to political shenanigans (misreporting of war in Iraq, Invasion of Panama, etc.), should we not explore how it addressed Hugo Chavez relative to his confronting the Venezuelan Plutocracy?

The question is, with the American Plutocracy effecting one of the largest income and wealth disparity in the industrialized world, is there an American Hugo Chavez waiting to emerge? Whether you agree or not I would love to engage on that premise.
