Giant puppets will illustrate who is in bed with whom. Musician and singer Daniel Llanes will perform and our People Power Street Theater will debut. The Austin MoveOn Council will be delivering a petition to Rep. Mike McCaul's office tomorrow at noon. This petition was signed by over 850 of his House District 10 constituents calling for an end to the Republican political theater on the House floor regarding cheap and clean energy. This petition calls for real solutions to our nation's energy crisis - not gimmjicks such as a gas tax holiday or expanding offshore drilling which won't have any effect on our supply for another 10 years and which will have an insignificant effect on our bottom line -- the price we pay at the pump.
We invite those who wish to join us to please arrive at Mr. McCaul's office at 5929 Balcones Drive by 11:45 tomorrow morning. Directions are: turn west off MoPac onto 2222 and right at the first traffic light (Balcones Drive). Go about 3/4 mile to a 4-story building on the right with an ample parking lot on its north side. Following some words of welcome, we will proceed inside to Mr. McCaul's office (#305) to deliver the petition.
