Four years after it endorsed George W. Bush for president, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram has wised up and endorsed Barack Obama for president.
This endorsement represents a healthy contrast to the helter-skelter reasoning the Dallas Morning News presented the week before in its ill-thought-out endorsement of John McCain (which was disgraceful at its base for its failure to address the huge issues presented by McCain's sad choice of Sarah Palin to be his running mate).
It's bad enough that John Cornyn showed a great inability to tell the truth when it came to Moveon.org's accurate portrayal of Gen. David Petraeus' testimony before Congress.
Now, we find out that Cornyn couldn't get straight the originator of the phrase "General Betray Us" that got him so upset. The originator WASN'T Moveon.org, it was RUSH LIMBAUGH.

A politician who can't be honest about the legislation he/she supports or opposes should never be trusted to hold public office.
It's bad enough that Pete Sessions (TX CD-32) told an out-and-out lie on his web site about who was responsible for the budget deficit that has been in force since George W. Bush assumed the White House in 2001.
Also on Sessions' web site, the GOP rubber stamp representative attempts to mislead its readers by claiming that the Employee Free Choice Act which would allow workers the option of joining union is actually a bill that would force unionziation down the throats of workers.

The New York Times is reporting in its editions a Bush White House attempt to "make it much more difficult for New York, California and others to extend coverage to children in middle-income families."
This is the same program that Sen. John Cornyn has fought tooth and nail both as Texas Attorney General and now in the U.S. Seante.

Do you really think Republicans aren't going to mention this in their attack ads should Mikal Watts win the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination to face Bush rubber stamp incumbent John Cornyn?
After watching what Republicans did to another monied candidate, Tony Sanchez, in his race to seat Rick Perry in 2002, I'm very concerned about what lengths Republicans will go to attack Watts in any general election fight against Cornyn.
And given the GOP track record, is there any reason the GOP won't use Watts' wealth and work as a trial lawyer against him?

I can't believe any politician would brag about supporting things that have helped drain our treasury not to mention our military.
That's exactly what Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) is doing in his campaign web site.
When you look at his site, it makes you wonder whether he truly understands what fiscal responsibility is and the negative effect his rubber stamping votes have had on our country.

I might as well say it. My choice for the U.S. Senate next year isn't even close, either in the Democratic primary or the general election.
Rick Noriega is way beyond any other candidate has come up, either Democrat or the disease of an incumbent we have now in Bush rummer stamp John Cornyn.
Mikal Watts, also seeking the Democratic nomination, is a big-time trial lawyer who has contributed tons of money to Democratic campaigns throughout the country.
There is, however, some other concerns about Watts that concern me about his giving.
