Seeking co-conspirators for Saturday's conventions

by: Tomtech

Mon Apr 16, 2012 at 11:43 AM CDT

I am pushing a couple of resolutions this year and hope some of the Texas Progressive Alliances' bloggers would be willing to share them with their friend who are going to Saturday's county conventions.

Complete Election Consolidation Act

Indigent Health Care Improvements Act

Did GOP Supreme Court Candidate Rose Vela friend Orly Taitz?

by: Tomtech

Mon Nov 02, 2009 at 01:32 AM CST

Orly Taitz believes she did.

If Rose Vela is a serious candidate for the Texas Supreme court, the fact that she is a follower of Orly Taitz could be advantageous, to her opposition.

I can come to Austin.

by: Tomtech

Wed Sep 09, 2009 at 02:54 PM CDT

I have just been offered "Guest Credentials" to the Fall DNC meeting this weekend in Austin.

I have the resources to get there and back with a little left over for food and a drink or two.

My main goal is to worm my way into the Party infrastructure from the local level. I had a good start at the Ft Worth Convention in '06 by volunteering for the Statewide candidates, especially DVO and Maria, at last years Convention I was a delegate for SD-01 and made some good contacts including Molly-Beth.

I need some help from you all:

Louis Gohmert, Birther, Deather, Tea Bagger, Hypocrite

by: Tomtech

Wed Aug 19, 2009 at 09:58 PM CDT

Crossposted from my DailyKos diary.

Representative Louis Gohmert actually wants to create a panel of political appointees that will decide what treatments you can use your Health Savings Account funds for as part of his "Patient-Controlled Healthcare Protection Act". For a Republican fighting to protect the country from "government control of heath care" this is the ultimate in hypocrisy.

We have a GOP health care Bill actually proposed in Congress and my Congressman Louis Gohmert is shooting for an exacta in GOP hyperbole with it.

While none of these claims come as a shock to anyone who knows about Congressman Gohmert the fact that he proposed legislation that actually creates a health care panel composed of political appointees whose mandate was to determine what treatments would be covered under expanded Health Savings Accounts as part of his "Patient-Controlled Healthcare Protection Act" may actually surprise you.

Photo Essay: Fight 'em till hell freezes over...

by: Tomtech

Tue Jun 13, 2006 at 03:06 PM CDT

(This post contains a great series of photos to tell the story of the state convention for all those not there and for those who were. - promoted by Karl-Thomas Musselman)

....then fight em on the ice.

This is the campaign theme for David Van Os.

There was a large number of bloggers working the convention in many areas, not just blogging.

I crashed a few parties during the Texas Democratic Convention and took almost 150 high quality pictures including more then a few backstage shots. I authorize the use of these photo's for bloggers, candidates, and campaigns. Click the thumbnail, then download the high quality versions for best results.

This is a video record of my time at the convention.

Warning: Video heavy diary below!

David Van Os is a breath of fresh air!

by: Tomtech

Sun Apr 09, 2006 at 00:13 PM CDT

I heard David speak Thursday night and it was the most impassioned speech I have ever heard about what is wrong with this country and how he can make a true difference from the position of Attorney General.

On Thursday Mr. Van Os told a gathering in the Square of Paris, Tx. according to the Paris News.

“Our government today in Austin, just like in Washington, is being run through cronyism and corruption and through people who sit in public office for the purpose of taking care of themselves and their cronies,”

His first act will be to declare that paperless voting machines are in violation of the Texas Constitution.

In all elections by the people, the vote shall be by ballot, and the Legislature shall provide for the numbering of tickets and make such other regulations as may be necessary to detect and punish fraud and preserve the purity of the ballot box; and the Legislature shall provide by law for the registration of all voters. (Amended Aug. 11, 1891, and Nov. 8, 1966.)

David is also prepared to go to court and fight President Bush's unconstitutional wiretapping of Americans.

[he will] file the lawsuits to protect Texans [and Americans] against lawless federal wiretapping, which individual Texans do not have the means to pursue on their own.

David is prepared to take on the oil companies who are obtaining record profits at the expense of the people. Texas' anti-trust laws were used to stop the Railroad Barons of the last century, and can be used to stop the oil Barons of today.

The United States, and Texas, were created by revolutionaries who had a vision and were not afraid to go against the odds when they arose against the most powerful nation on the planet. They provided a method that allowed the people to peacefully rebel against those who forgot the mandates of the people. David hopes the people of Texas, and the country, begin that rebellion with the 2006 election with enough of a mandate that the paperless voting machines cannot usurp the peoples will.

David is a true grassroots candidate who is operating on a shoestring budget, he is out to prove that the people of Texas, and the country, are ready to participate in a constitutionally acceptable revolution using the method which the revolutionaries who wrote our Constitutions provided for.
