Joe Barton and Pete Sessions Cap and Trade Scare Tactics

by: TexasCowboy

Wed Jul 01, 2009 at 09:14 PM CDT

(An interesting take on Cap and Trade. - promoted by Matt Glazer)

The Cap and Trade Bill (HR 2454) is aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 17 percent by 2020 and create 'green' jobs, by putting a limit on the amount of pollution large industrial industries can output, and then if they go above that, they have to buy pollution permits.  If some companies do not need all that they are allocated, they can sell their permits to companies that do.

Texas U.S. Representatives Joe Barton and Pete Sessions continue their lying campaign about the "Cap and Trade" legislation by claiming that President Obama's proposal to curb greenhouse gas emissions would cost households as much as $3,100 per year. Their 'Party of No' says it is a "massive national energy tax." However Texans and Americans need to know the $3,100 figure they keep lying about is a complete misrepresentation of both President Obama's proposal and the studies from which the number is derived.

An EPA analysis (Environmental Protection Agency) of the draft version found that the 'cap & trade' policy has a relatively modest impact on U.S. consumers assuming the bulk of revenues from the plan are returned to American households. "The EPA estimates the average cost per household to only be between $98 and $140 per year.

Does Rick Perry Want Texas to Secede

by: TexasCowboy

Wed Apr 15, 2009 at 10:04 AM CDT

On April 9, 2009, Texas Republican Governor Rick Perry waded into General Beck's loony bin and declared Texas' sovereignty from the U.S., saying that the time has come to "draw the line in the sand" against the federal government. "No longer are we going to accept their oppressive hand in the state of Texas."

You remember Glenn Beck who said Sep 9, 2005

"...this is horrible to say, and I wonder if I'm alone in this -- you know it took me about a year to start hating the 9-11 victims' families? ...I don't hate all of them. I hate probably about 10 of them. But when I see a 9-11 victim family on television, or whatever, I'm just like, 'Oh, shut up!' I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining. And we did our best for them."

Texans Should Be Proud of Barton and Culberson

by: TexasCowboy

Tue Feb 24, 2009 at 11:14 PM CST

Politico.com reports from President Obama's Address to Congress:
"As President Barack Obama delivered his unofficial State of the Union address Tuesday night, some Republicans at the Capitol and elsewhere provided harsh reviews by Twitter - at least until they did a 180 to adopt a more respectful tone.

Early on during Obama's speech, the office of Texas Republican Rep. Joe Barton sent out a Tweet saying: "Aggie basketball game is about to start on espn2 for those of you that aren't going to bother watching Pelosi smirk for the next hour."

That Tweet was followed minutes later by another: "Disregard that last Tweet from a staffer."

Republican Rep. John Culberson of Texas warned during the speech: "Hold onto your wallet America." A short while later, he added: "We are at war - seems to me honoring our troops should come on page one rather than the end of the speech."

But just three minutes after that, Culberson seemed to get the message that his message might not be playing well outside the chamber. "This is a great privilege to be here and I will try hard to find ways to work together while preserving my core principles," he Tweeted.

Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich, weighing in from afar, mixed praise with snarky criticism throughout the evening. He said Obama's "call for education reform is encouraging and if he is willing to fight for it would be historic," that "Electronic health records are a good cause" and that "Energy healthcare and education are powerful zones for Americans to focus on and if President Obama is willing to innovate we should help."

Who is representing taxpaying, hardworking, recession enduring TEXANS? NO ONE!

by: TexasCowboy

Wed Feb 11, 2009 at 07:32 PM CST

America in crisis and 80% of Americans supporting President Obama's Jobs and Stimulus Bill and millions of Texans who supported this legislation had absolutely NO support.

Senators Kay Hutchison and John Cornyn along with U. S. Representatives from Texas voted against helping average Texans when they opposed the bailout; they opposed helping Texans who are hurting and who are in trouble.  Their actions are the epitome of irresponsibility:

Pete Sessions A Crook or a Republican

by: TexasCowboy

Thu Feb 05, 2009 at 10:03 AM CST

Pete Sessions A Crook or a Republican
He is both! Pete Sessions is a Republican elitist, a clone of George W Bush who bemoans the new Democratic lead Congress for closing him out of policy making. What ole Pete fails to own up to is the he closed out Democrats for years under the Republican lead Congress and would not allow them to participate when he was in the party with 'power', what my mom would call a 'cry-baby'.  His leadership is pure partisan always representing big oil, big business and Wall Street. His leadership has led Texas to have one of the lowest ranking in caring for our children and elderly and he continues to vote against SCHIP. Thank God for pro-children Democrats!

John Cornyn Endangering National Security?

by: TexasCowboy

Sat Jan 17, 2009 at 03:35 PM CST

So what else is new with the same ole tired politics of division and fear mongering by Texas Republican John Cornyn and his Republican cronies.  The Clintons have been the target of these white extremists for decades and although America spoke loud and clear, Cornyn wants to continue to stir up trouble in the midst of Hope in America.  His gripe? He did not like soon-to-be Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's response on the transparency of Bill Clinton's global initiative and the fund raising fostered for this very worthwhile cause.  It seems John Cornyn and adulterer David Vitter from Louisiana think Obama's foreign policy might be 'encumbered' by the global initiatives of the Clinton Foundation.

Senators John Cornyn and Kay Hutchison

by: TexasCowboy

Wed Nov 05, 2008 at 09:40 AM CST

The American people have spoken with an overwhelming and resounding voice electing Senator Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States.  Barack Obama won a historical 338 electoral votes, more than George W Bush in 2004 with 271 electoral votes and more than George W Bush in 2000 with 286 electoral votes.

John Cornyn does NOT support U.S.Troops

by: TexasCowboy

Fri Oct 17, 2008 at 11:08 PM CDT

Health care. Mental health benefits. Adequate body armor and armored vehicles. A college education. These are just some of the necessities all of our service members deserve. But clearly, Senator John Cornyn doesn't think so.

Cornyn's rhetoric belies his appalling record in the Senate. The fact that Cornyn has stood with President Bush 95 percent of the time and has opposed our service members on more than 20 key issues proves he doesn't support our troops or veterans. It's a fact every Texan needs to know, now.

Let's make sure everyone knows John Cornyn is not giving our veterans and troops the respect they deserve.

Cornyn's False Charges of Voter Fraud

by: TexasCowboy

Fri Oct 17, 2008 at 10:16 PM CDT

John Cornyn would seek to be another George Bush in trying to manipulate voter registration as he along with George Bush and the Republican Supreme Court, did in the 2000, 2004 and 2006 elections.
Most Americans know George Bush basically stole the 2004 election and used Alberto Gonzales and the Justice Department, which became a wing of Bush's White House, made false and fraudulent voter fraud allegations.
