Investigate Bush/Cheney for war crimes.

by: rebeloutlaw_69

Fri Jan 30, 2009 at 09:28 PM CST

I will  remember the last 8 years of financial destruction here in the US and the bloodshed of millions of civilians on a global scale. most honest political and financial experts consider him the worst leader america has ever had and this is why.

Worst fiscal crisis since the Great Depression
Lied about the war in Iraq
No WMD's found in Iraq
Vetoed health coverage for kids
Ignored law, allowed torture
Illegal wiretapping
Had enough info to stop 9/11 and didn't, hid that fact from the public
Lost Bin laden at Tora Bora
Crassly unconstitutional signing statements
Stripped resources from Afghanistan and sent them to Iraq
Didn't catch Bin Laden
Allowed Al Qaeda to regroup in Pakistan Afghan war out of control
Lied about reducing greenhouse emissions, ignored warming
Muzzled warming scientists in NASA and elsewhere
Political appointments to Department of Justice and political prosecutions
Cheney, Rove, and others in contempt of Congress -- refused to tell the American people the truth
Fooled public into believing Saddam was involved in 9/11 when he knew otherwise
Made light of inabilty to find WMD's

Please sign the petition to investigate Bush/Cheney for war crimes. Then pass it on to everyony you know that will sign it.

Does RACISM belong in the White House? 12 Noon 9-19-08 UT Utopia Theater/School of Social Work

The portrait of John McCain painted in Gook is far more disturbing than any racial epithet.
A central thesis of the book is that war fertilizes racism, and racism justifies wars and the killing of civilians. This dynamic thrives within the most dangerous leaders of the world. Is John McCain one of them?

Why we must fight for a Democratic Majority

by: Doug Mayeux

Fri Mar 28, 2008 at 10:30 PM CDT

I went to see Stop-Loss tonight with my wife. Stop-Loss is about a personnel policy used by the military and directed by the President, that equates to a back door draft. Stop-Loss is just what it sounds like, a policy put in place to stop the loss of military service members due to attrition. According to the film, since 9/11 81,000 service members have been stop lossed.

Tomorrow marks the next step in our presidential nominee selection process. The question of who our next nominee will be is still up in the air. One question we can answer for certain, however, is that no matter who our candidate(s) are, we must come together and support all Democratic candidates in November.

81,000 service members have been stop lossed. As far as I am concerned, the blood of any of these people that were sent back to the desert and killed lies directly on the hands of George W. Bush and his failure to manage our American military force, however, military mismanagement is just one issue of many. The ability for us to bring about real change runs parallel with our ability to elect a Democratic majority. Only through a Democratic majority can we: bring an end to the war in Iraq, finally take care of our children and schools, establish universally accessible health care, and so on.

A Democratic majority with a Democratic president - necessities for change and progress - anything else will continue the abuse of our brave service members. Anything else will fail to honor those who have sacrificed so much for us all.

Five Years On: More Shock, Less Awe

by: Dan Grant

Tue Mar 18, 2008 at 00:38 PM CDT

This week marks the fifth anniversary of shock and awe in Iraq.

Five years of blood - 3,990 U.S. soldiers killed, including two who perished in a midday bomb attack in downtown Baghdad just yesterday, and more than 29,000 seriously wounded.

Five years of treasure - $800 billion officially, including President Bush's pending request for additional tax dollars, and probably closer to a total of $3 trillion, according to Nobel economics laureate Joseph Stiglitz.

Five years of shocking failure and awesome incompetence.

It was a year ago that I returned from Iraq, where I had been serving as a civilian.  I didn't support the original invasion, but I held out hope that we could help Iraq build the foundation of a democratic system to justify the heartbreaking personal investments of our military families and the financial sacrifice of our taxpayers.

I was wrong.

Neither administration - not the one in Baghdad, not the one back in Washington, D.C. - had the commitment or competence to get the job done.

This week, what we are left with is a holding pattern of continued violence against our soldiers and Iraqi civilians, against our standing in the world, and against our economic well-being, which is now being driven into a deepening recession caused to some significant degree by that can be laid at the feet of the more than $12 billion you and I are already squandering there each month.

Yesterday, George W. Bush issued hollow assurances that he and his administration are doing everything they can to avoid an outright plunge into economic disaster, touting a $30 billion bailout of a prestigious Wall Street bank engineered since last Friday by Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and others.

"I want to thank you, Mr. Secretary, for working over the weekend," Bush smiled.

He made no mention of the families of the 15 U.S. soldiers who have been killed in Iraq since Sunday, who surely have lost their share of sleep, too.

President Bush and the positive effect of the war on the ecomony?

by: hwhite

Mon Feb 18, 2008 at 09:08 AM CST

Did I hear President Bush's comments on the Today show this morning correctly when he stated that the war in Iraq was benefiting our national economy? If so, what a sad time it is for Texans and our country. I have looked for a transcript of the interview with Ann Curry but I cannot find it. Perhaps someone can find and post the interview.

ELECTION DAY SPECIAL: KARL ROVES DIARY

by: nbender

Mon Oct 30, 2006 at 07:26 PM CST

ELECTION DAY SPECIAL:  THEY SO NEED ALL 50 WAYS

TO THE  TUNE OF PAUL SIMON’S

“50 WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR LOVER”

FROM THE DIARY OF KARL ROVE 2005

I’ve seen tension in Dub.  No WMD’s, no terrorists, (well when we started) in Iraq, Social Security is stalling, me and Joseph Wilson and Valerie always in the news, and they say our tax cuts have caused the worst budget deficit in history.  He needs a pep talk, we got to give him cover and stay on message

As Karl dozes, he remembers thinking; cover the boss’s back, and hears again the name of Paul Simon.  Hey, he’s dead; he can’t run for Senate, that’s how Ashcroft lost.  He stands and sings before his president:

The problems are inside the liberals head I’ll make you see
The answer is so easy if we take it logically
The whole point of this strategy is we must be blame free
There must be fifty ways to keep our cover

I know you hate reporters that peskily intrude
You always stay on message so you won’t be misconstrued
You certainly repeat yourself so if they question, they are rude
There must be fifty ways to keep our cover

Pick some folks to attack, Jack
Get a privatized plan, Stan
Make it fir or agin, Ken
Just keep us blame free

Cut the richest folk’s tax, Dax
Use the color code red, Ned
Seek new funds for Iraq, Zack
Just keep us blame free

Oh Dub, it grieves me so to see you in such pain
Wish there were new threats we could utilize for gain
I know you’d ditto that so I’ll again explain
About the fifty ways

Resist the stem cell, Dell
Force all people to pray, Ray
Coerce all to agree, Lee
Just keep us blame free

Make dissenters conform, Norm
Don’t give them their say, Jay
Keep reporters in jail, Hale
And keep us blame free

THE DIARY:  FALL 2006

Our cover’s blown.  The opposition may actually gain in this election.  It’s the press’s fault, of course, with all those anti-administration facts on WMD’s, that liberator thing (well, we were greeted, just not that way) and 9/11 (NOT) due to Saddam, but I still love saying it 9/11, 9/11, 9/11 – it still can work – we keep calling them cut and runners; (they won’t be clever enough to call us slog and bleeders) and fear, more fear, fear.  The only governing is getting elected so we must accentuate the negative because that is our positive; and to any of our candidates who don’t agree – no RNC bucks.  Karl again dreams.
Swift boat Democrat vets, Chet
That works well we’ve all seen
Demand negative ads, Thad
Or we’ll send them no green
Cause they need RNC bucks, Chuck
To control TV screens

Bait the cut and run Dems, Clem
And we’ll be home free
Give them all a good fright, Dwight
Cause we got to divide, Clyde

And we’ll get 50 states to run for cover

Absorb the plan of attack, Zack
Emphasize Bush is at war, Thor
And surely they’ll see
Deny state of denial, Lyle
And keep us blame free

Get the racist ad on, Ron
When you’re in a close race, Chase
But say you didn’t know, Joe
And keep us blame free

But….. they still might win the day, Clay
So plan what records to shred, Fred
And that’s just one more time we’ll keep our cover
  * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  We have nothing to fear so much as not having the use of fear itself”

Are we not at war?

by: garnetfairy

Tue Sep 12, 2006 at 05:14 AM CDT

Can anyone explain to me why Bush promised a few million dollars in foreign aid to rebuild Lebanon after the war with our ally, Israel?  Are we not at war with terrorists and those who harbor and support them?  Doesnt Lebanon harbor and support Hezbollah?  Hezbollah is a listed terrorist organization, isnt it?  I know I saw the Lebanese people cheering for Hezbollah on TV.

Are we not operating in a deficit and receiving foreign aid from China???

If Bush thinks he can outspend Hezbollah in Lebanon and win over the citizens he is high IMO.
