The Coordinated Campaign Needs YOU

by: laderrick

Mon Aug 11, 2008 at 00:42 AM CDT

The Travis County Coordinated Campaign has been working feverishly to enter data from our wildly successful precinct conventions into a database to be merged with other voter access information. Fortunately, there is a huge amount of data never before available to us. Unfortunately, this means there is a huge amount of data that needs entry.

The first deadline for completing the project has passed, and it's not done. The new deadline is August 15. In order to complete the data entry by then, we need volunteers all day, every day between now and then.

It only takes a few minutes to learn how to do what needs doing. You don't need any special skills. Bring a laptop if you have one, or use the computers at HQ if you don't. Bring any and all friends you can talk into helping.

HQ is open from 9am to 9pm every day of the week. It's located on the east side of I-35 between 11th and 12th streets, next to the CVS pharmacy. There are snacks and sodas and helpful staffers there all the time.

Even if you've never volunteered before, please consider helping out. This is a great way to get started, and because this is a coordinated campaign effort, it will benefit all democratic candidates both up and down the ticket.

by: mariochampion

Mon Jun 09, 2008 at 09:56 PM CDT

(I've already started helping move things in. If you are around, come join the fun! - promoted by Karl-Thomas Musselman)

Hey Austin folks

Obama HQ has to vacate the lovely and cavernous 816 Congress, immediately, as in Tuesday, starting at noon!

Much of the office is being transferred to a new location in the new TCDP coordinated campaign office at 12th and I-35, which is great news.

PRIORITY NEEDS
-People with trucks to ferry loads between the two spaces.
-Packing supplies (boxes, peanuts, tape, newspapers, etc)
-Labor, Labor, Labor.

It is not mountains of material, but it is more than the last-working Austin field director JD Gins can do on his own.

Show up, email him or call him if you can help.

Help East Austin Communities Today!

by: Michael Redding

Tue Apr 08, 2008 at 08:07 PM CDT

Hello, all you Austin-area BOR readers!

An organization I'm involved with at UT is preparing for our 11th annual 5K race in just a couple of weeks, and I thought I'd extend the invitation to come out and run for a good cause!  This year, we're benefitting Project 2009, which is an East Austin community cleanup project.  The largest single one-day of community service in Austin helps to paint houses, pick up litter, repair parks, and otherwise foster a greater emphasis on community in Austin.

That being said, we need your help!  As of the time of this writing, we only have 86 runners for the race that is Sunday, April 20th, 2008 at 8am on the UT Campus.  If you can come out and run (or walk) for a good cause, please consider registering for our race (it's only $20 and includes a great goodie bag!)  If not, please consider donating as little as $1 to help clean up your community!
