In his remarks, Rick Perry calls for doubling the size of tea parties. This is from last Friday's tea party, which took place (as you can tell) directly outside the Texas Capitol. Rick Perry's campaign was signing up people -- literally -- just outside of this shot:
Rick Perry's call to double the size of these violent crowds is far more dangerous than anything he may make up about what's going on in Washington today. Perry has no sense of self-respect -- for himself, or for the state of Texas -- when he makes these calls of action.
As a resource for those who may visit or pass along this post, I wanted to re-post something the Texas Democratic Party recently put out -- the "Top Ten Rick Perry Failures." Here they are -- with full resources, links, facts, and talking points on each page that is linked:
Clever politicians have turned socialism into a frightening ghost. It has replaced terrorism as the catchall phrase. Should we get our pitch forks and kill this really scary monster? Maybe, but be careful what you kill. You might just kill a friend.
Everybody cheered when Communism finally slipped into the Great Cowpie of History in the 1990s, but has anyone noticed lately that Raw Capitalism (that darling of the conservative set) has likewise, in the past couple of months, slithered onto the list of failed social experiments?
The truth is, pure concepts (governments run all one way or another) just don't suit the human animal. Some of them might work, if they weren't run and crewed by flawed individuals. Communism didn't work; Facism really didn't work, and now Capitalism has also been shown to be a failure.
Politics (that dirty bird) and compromise are the answer to governing diverse individuals, groups, and ethnicities. So, shut up and enjoy Democracy, why don't you?
