True Blue 10

Lorenzo Sadun for SBOE-10

by: rwcold

Thu May 14, 2009 at 06:01 PM CDT

I just set-up a fundraising page on Act Blue for Lorenzo Sadun's Campaign for the State Board of Education-10th District.  As I'm sure you remember, the Fundamentalists on the SBOE have been trying to infect science classes with Creationist dogma, especially the 10th District incumbent, Cynthia Dunbar!  I can think of no cause that's more important long-term than protecting our children from religion masquerading as science!
Show Lorenzo that you're grateful to him for stepping up for all our children!  Go to the web site below and help me launch this important campaign to stop one of the most outrageous Right-wing attacks on the First Amendment!
http://www.actblue.com/page/tr...
You don't have to be rich to make a difference!  Whatever you can afford will help us get this campaign off the ground, and generate some attention.  Donate a few bucks today, and if at all possible, go ahead and make your contribution automatically repeat each month.  Right now, a little bit will go a long way to start a revolution right here in the 10th District!  Of course, BIG contributions will help BIG TIME!

Thanks for all you do!
Ron Coldiron,
Treasurer,
Lorenzo Sadun for SBOE-10

5 Things You Can Do to Help Win TX-10

by: Karl-Thomas Musselman

Wed May 09, 2007 at 06:19 PM CDT

One of the districts that is going to be the most competitive this year in Texas is TX-10, which used to be held by Lyndon Johnson, Jake Pickle, and Lloyd Doggett before it was tortured by Tom Delay into a barbell district stretching from Central Austin to Harris County. Now represented by the unimpressive Michael McCaul, Democrat Ted Ankrum help the incumbent McCaul to 55%, the best work of any district that wasn't a pick-up in 2006 (think Lampson & Ciro).

One of the really exciting things about this race is that the past cycles candidates (Sadun and Ankrum) have hung around and maintained the in-district infrastructure. To that end, a new organization called "True Blue 10" has been formed and has been working for months to independently organize and prepare for the general election in 2008, regardless of the eventual nominee (seeing as there are already 2 candidates announced- Dan Grant and Larry Joe Doherty.

For those that want to help this effort along I'm making this post to introduce you to a few ways to help.

1) Keep an eye out for stories about the race at BOR. Our writers are going to be pretty plugged into this one.

2) You can donate to the TX-10 Democratic Nominee Fund or start raising for it yourself.

3) Consider signing up for the True Blue 10 email list by sending an e-mail to ron@tb10.org  Put ‘Send TB10 News’ in the subject line.

4) Consider joining the TB10 online discussion group. Look for “Sign in and apply for membership.”  That will send them an email asking for approval to join the discussion group. Apply if you are in the district or have special abilities or insight you might be able to offer.

5) Read the Spring TB10 Newsletter in the extended entry.
