Who is representing taxpaying, hardworking, recession enduring TEXANS? NO ONE!

by: TexasCowboy

Wed Feb 11, 2009 at 07:32 PM CST

America in crisis and 80% of Americans supporting President Obama's Jobs and Stimulus Bill and millions of Texans who supported this legislation had absolutely NO support.

Senators Kay Hutchison and John Cornyn along with U. S. Representatives from Texas voted against helping average Texans when they opposed the bailout; they opposed helping Texans who are hurting and who are in trouble.  Their actions are the epitome of irresponsibility:

Kay Bailey Hutchison Misses Major Votes on Stimulus Package

by: Phillip Martin, Progress Texas

Sat Feb 07, 2009 at 10:50 AM CST

I'll lead with this -- why does everything think she's invincible again?

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, missed six votes Friday night on the economic stimulus deal, instead fulfilling a promise to speak at the Richardson Chamber of Commerce.

Hutchison, the state's senior senator, was one of only three senators who missed votes. Ther other two missing senators were Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H.,  who is not participating in Senate votes because he has been nominated to be secretary of commerce and Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., who is being treated for a brain tumor. Kennedy, who was resting in Florida, has now returned to Washington for a likely final vote on the bill Monday.

Senator Hutchison, when given the choice between serving her country and serving her own campaign, chose herself. She should have been there for the votes -- I don't care if she wouldn't have voted the way I wanted. I expect, at the absolute very least, for a U.S. Senator --- one of only two people in a state of more than 20 million --- to fulfill her role and act like a Senator.

Instead, Kay Bailey Hutchison chose to act like a politician. Pathetic.

And the Constituent (Dis) Service Sweepstakes is on!

by: jelyon

Thu Oct 25, 2007 at 06:38 PM CDT

On Oct 18th, I sent a message to Congressman McCaul, urging him to hold Big Telecom accountable for providing our information to the White House.

Today, Oct 25th, I sent a similar message to Senators Cornyn and Hutchison.

I'm willing to bet that I hear from the Senators, and hear nothing from the Congressman.

Why do I think that? Because McCaul's office has NEVER responded to anything I've sent regarding a particular policy issue.

(They did respond to a request I initiated (by phone) as part of a St. Ed's course assignment.)

For those fans of Congressman McCaul who wonder why we say his constituent service is less than satisfactory...this is one reason why. It's not just because we're being mean and partisan.

Politics and Faith - Take the Quiz

by: stopkinky

Since Perry's religiously bigoted statements this weekend, it is worth reviewing what real religious faith (as opposed to phony public displays of false piety) requires.

GOP Love Fest with Money and Failure

by: Libby Shaw

Fri Nov 03, 2006 at 05:11 PM CST

I honestly don’t know why anyone with even a half of a brain would vote for any Republican.  They have been in power for 12 years and what do they have to show for it?  9/11 happened under their watch.  The party can scream, vent, rant, blame Bill, fabricate, attack, twist and distort reality all they want but bottom line, 9/11 happened on Bush’s and the Republican’s watch.

Next Bush and his spineless rubber stamping Republican Congress invade the wrong country for bogus reasons.  We have to stay the course until weeks prior to the election and suddenly there is no course to stay.  Clueless and/or lazy Senators, including Hutchison failed to read the intelligence and fixated instead on Saddam the boogie man and make believe WMD.
