Okay, did this surprise anyone? Seriously though, Texas is back! The D and Special Teams are stronger than ever. This team is so good that they made two rookie QB's look like seasoned vets. On that note I believe that McCoy looked a little more prepared than Stead, but that was expected with him being a redshirt last season. The 2006 Texas team is just as good if not better than the 2005 National Championship team. I can see great things in the Longhorn's future.
It's that time again! The Longhorn's season gets underway tommorrow in earnest. Let me know what you think. My prediction is that UT trounces North Texas. The score will be 42-10. That's my take. I'll have a round up tomorrow after the game. What's your prediction?

This news is too good to be true. Turns out that the only way OU can compete with our national champion Texas Longhorns is to cheat. Read all about it at ESPN.
Those Texas traitors, Rhett Bomar and Adrian Peterson, who left the Lone Star state for OU get no sympathy from me when the NCAA hands out its punishment.
YouTube has some photos of Bomar getting his ass kicked.
This helps clear the way for UT to repeat at national champions, and this spells long term trouble for OU. What 5-star blue chip recruit would want to go to an OU program on probation?
And the best part? Bob Stoops has been hanging out with James Dobson. He's been acting like a sanctimonious religious right nut, and now his program got caught red-handed. I'm sure James Dobson will blame this scandal on gay marriage.
The United States lost 2-1 to Ghana in their final game of the opening round of the 2006 World Cup. The U.S. needed a victory to advance -- and for Italy to beat the Czech Republic, which they did -- or else they'd go home. The U.S. is going home.
Just as the game against Italy, this game was marred by controversial calls by the referees. After the U.S. tied the game just before halftime, the referees awarded Ghana a penalty kick during stoppage time -- though replays show that the "foul" was quite clearly a dive. Actually, every bit of contact from the U.S. seemed to cause three minutes of moaning and suffering from the Ghana teammates. I couldn't tell if I was watching the World Cup or an NBA basketball game.
Though the penalty kick sucked, the U.S. certainly didn't play well enough to win. Our captain, Reyna, decided to play footsie with the ball in the backfield instead of clearing it, leading to Ghana's first easy goal. In the second half, the U.S. couldn't capitalize on a number of excellent opportunities. Donovan -- who stepped in as "captain" when Reyna left -- completely overshot a free kick, and then later in the game chose to dribble out to the middle of the field instead of taking a WIDE OPEN diagonal path directly to the goal. Suffice to say, the "inspiring" efforts we saw in the game against Italy were sorely lacking in today's game.
I think it's time to go watch my Rose Bowl DVD, and see some real football...
