Sarah Does Dallas

She came. Dallas Republicans saw. She went.

Local Democrats questioned Mr. McCain's and Ms. Palin's credentials as reformers.

"I have yet to hear one new plan from either one of them," said Dallas County Party Chairwoman Darlene Ewing. [emphasis added.]

Governor Rick Perry was mighty proud of her performance Thursday night:

"I bet there were a lot of Democrats who woke up yesterday morning kinda looking forward to the debate and thinking that they were going to watch our candidate get steamrolled by their guy," he said. "I bet a lot of them woke up this morning a little bit scared because they realize they got a fight on their hands." [emphasis added]

Scared? I wouldn't characterize my feelings as "scared," Governor. In fact, I haven't talked to one Democrat who is "scared" after seeing Sarah Palin's performance Thursday night.  

However, I was scared when I heard her comments last week.

And yes, I was scared this week when I saw her (on the news) descending down a very long flight of stairs (from her campaign jet) in her very high heels carrying her 5-month-old baby boy, Trig.

That says a lot about how the McCain campaign feels about her.  And that really, really scares me since it seems like some kind of child abuse or McCain abuse.  One slip, and whoosh...bye bye Sarah and child.

The fact that she would carry her baby around like a sack of potatoes is one thing that absolutely scares me about Sarah Palin, Governor Perry.

So, yes, I am scared of her. Horrified. Completely.

...what really scared me was her little thing at the end about additional (and apparently optional) authority in the Constitution for the Vice President. What the hell was she talking about? I went back and read the whole thing, and I still have no idea. You can't say something like that without explaining yourself. If you're running for office and you claim the office you're seeking has more authority than most people who have held it ever use, you really owe the voters an explanation.

that's how they got her to accept the VP/running mate gig. You know, "Sarah, please, please run with McCain, Dick Cheney changed the whole deal forever and you will be the first VP to reap the benefits." Maybe she slipped up and wasn't supposed to share that with all of us. Oops.

What scared me the most was (0.00 / 0)
how Palin had to resort to talking points and change the subject when it was glaringly apparent that she could not answer the moderator's questions.

It was so very obvious that she had been coached and she performed almost as if some kind of programmed robot.

Her attempts to appear Reaganesque were both out of character and downright laughable.

But what really scared me the most is how much Sarah Palin reminds me of George W. Bush.  John McCain must have taken leave of his senses....

Apparently we are not the only women who have issues with Sarah Palin.

W. and Palin are highly trained Republican puppets. We know Cheney is W.'s puppet master. Who beside McCain is Palin's? Indeed who is McCain's puppet master?

it's obvious that she worries more about men liking her than women. Seems her "style" probably works well with lonely men who prefer "winks" over policy stances. Somebody may have forgotten to inform her that women outnumber men in the lower 48.

Four thoughts (1.00 / 1)
1.  I think in the first 100 days the Obama/Biden administration that they should suggest to congress to pass legislation that NO Woman should carry her baby down a flight of stairs.  Air plane or otherwise!!!   AND any employer making that Woman carry a baby down a flight of stairs be prosecuted!!!

2.  Always answer the questions of the moderator as they ask, ESPECIALLY if she has written a book about your opponent and that the book would be more successful if you opponent wins the election.  DUH!!!

3.  Keith Olbermann, former sportscaster, is one of the most non-partisan citizens of the U.S.

4.  Has anyone ever seen Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow in the same room???

really thoughts? Random thoughts? Rants? I like #1 but you left out the part about the "high heels." That's important for any legislation per your recommendation.
