| Hurricane Ike has left the Capitol Area Food Bank depleted. Here is what they need and how you can help.
Items requested:
- bottled water
- granola bars
- canned meats (pop-top lids)
- peanut butter
- diapers & wipes (adult and baby)
- personal care items (toothpaste, toothbrush, feminine products, soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc.)
Most needed items: Peanut Butter, Larger-size Diapers & Dog Food (many evacuees have dogs).
Donate at the Food Bank through Friday, September 19 and at the H-E-B at Parmer Food Drive on Wednesday, September 17. A drop box is available at the Food Bank for after hours donations.
Adult volunteers are needed to help with:
- evacuee intake
- traffic control
- collecting food and financial donations
- distributing 25 lb. food boxes to evacuees
Shift times:
Tuesday, September 15 through Friday, September 18
8 - 11 a.m., 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., 2 - 5 p.m.
