Glad to see this put up top from the other thread. Yeah, when you have our own Senator, a woman, not sure about the VP pick, you've got some trouble!

Don't forget Palin wasn't sure of herself for national office either. This was only a few weeks ago.

I would argue that the majority of people didn't know too much about Obama when he decided to run, including Bill Clinton, the most prominent man in our party.

I think Palin was a good pick for McCain. Republicans finally have an interesting candidate on their ticket, someone who may be able to do something McCain has not been able to do, energize Republicans. Republicans also have the chance to define who she is leading up to the convention. I expect to see more pics of that automatic weapon in her hands over the next few months, which imo is a pretty sweet pic.

to drum up when there are already corruption issues surfacing about Palin. Hardcore conservatives like Buchanan, Scarborough and Peggy Noonan were aghast as this possibility this morning. They said she could never survive in a debate with Joe Biden since Palin has zip foreign policy experience. They were also worried about the scandals in Alaska.

She beat her parties governor and the Democratic ex governor to win this post. To beat her parties governor she had to work against her parties wishes. You might say she played the Clinton role in Alaska's Republican primary and won. Every level she's approached has seen her opponents under estimate her. Laugh at her all you want, or laugh at McCain, you may be crying soon.

G. Ferraro had nothing but compliments to say about her. H.Clinton sent along her best wishes. Her popularity numbers rivals former Governor Mark Warner, the keynote speaker on Tuesday night. I had thought that the Mondale pick was a gimmick 24 years ago. It seems that many here may have that very same opinion today, 2008. How telling is that? I guess we haven't come a long way????
