McCain Picks Alaska Governor Sarah Palin for VP Candidate

by: Phillip Martin

Fri Aug 29, 2008 at 09:42 AM CDT

Sarah Palin, the 44 year-old Governor from Alaska, will be McCain's choice for VP candidate.

I know very little about here -- but I'm not the only Texan who doesn't know much. From Daily Kos, this is what Kay Bailey Hutchinson had to say about McCain's choice on CNN::

I really don't know that much about her.

And how does McCain plan to announce it? Well, this is hysterical:

The McCain campaign said it's hoping to have 15,000 people at the Ohio event, roughly five times the size of his largest crowd to date.

I'm not going to update more news about Palin throughout the day -- there will be too much to keep up with. Talk about your thoughts on the pick and what you learn about her in the comments below.

re: 15,000 people (0.00 / 0)
Maybe I am misreading things, but I cannot imagine McCain getting 15,000 people to his event.  I think Sarah Palin will have a day or two of media coverage, and then she'll be a dud.  By the end of the convention, they'll be wishing they'd picked somebody else.

We'll see, I guess.

I LOVE the fact that she's a creationist.

DeeceX: making Texas safe for democracy

McCain's father (5.00 / 1)
McCain's father died in 1981 at the age of 70.

If McCain believes Palin has enough experience to be President, he cannot make the claim Obama is too inexperienced.

She has been under investigation (0.00 / 0)
for trying to get her ex-brother-in-law fired.  As I understand it, he is the sherriff in the same town as her sister lives and was pulling strings to get him fired during the divorce.  Good old GOP mishandling of the power of the office of govenor.  She's still under investigation over this so it should be interesting in the comming month.

The McCain crew think that Palin will help take away Hillary's votes....You know...all those women that are upset with Obama because their candidate didn't win.  The odds that it could happen are pretty good, but there aren't that many women that dissatisfied...unless you talk to CNN.
