by: Phillip Martin

Mon Oct 29, 2007 at 11:14 AM CDT

(We would love to see ya there... - promoted by Matt Glazer)

For those in the Greater Houston area, you're invited to our first TexBlog PAC fundraiser! Details from the brand new TexBlog PAC website:
Join TexBlog PAC!

Monday, October 29th, 2007 5:30 to 7:30 pm

At the Home of David Mincberg
5406 Braeburn, Bellaire, 77401

For additional information, or to sponsor the event, call Charles Kuffner at 713-825-0013.

Contributions and sponsorships can be completed online at the Act Blue page for the TexBlog PAC.

Sponsors include Reps. Senfronia Thompson, Garnet Coleman, Dora Olivo, Jessica Farrar, Rick Noriega, Ana Hernandez, and Ellen Cohen, as well as Senators Mario Gallegos & Rodney Ellis. Other sponsors include The Texas Democratic Party, The House Democratic Campaign Committee, Congressman Chris Bell, Congressman Nick Lampson, Council Member Melissa Noriega, Barbara Radnofsky, Jim Henley, & Joe Jaworski.

As stated on the website, the goal of the TexBlog PAC is to harness the power of our grassroots and online supporters and win back the Texas House:

By contributing to progressive candidates, fostering the energy of the netroots, supporting party infrastructure, registering new voters, funding civic education programs, and assisting like-minded grassroots activists, Texas bloggers will help elect progressive candidates in 2008, and beyond.

During the 2008 election cycle, the TexBlog PAC is committed to changing the direction of Texas politics by taking back the Texas House. The TexBlog PAC will work toward winning six additional seats in the Texas House, allowing Democrats to elect a Democratic Speaker. A net gain of six house seats will put an end to the Republican claim of "absolute" power and restore democracy and the democratic process to the people's House.

Come to the fundraiser, visit our new website, learn more about us, and donate today!

If anyone has any comments or suggestions about the website design, content or layout, leave a comment or let me know since I put it together for the TexBlog PAC. Especially if you have Internet Explorer since I can't test that as easily though from what others have told me it works fine.

Have fun at the event y'all!

tonight have to say that the turnout was drop dead wonderful.  Everyone is psyched and ready to rock into 2008.  We're locked and loaded to win, especially given our party's awesome candidates. This is a very exciting time indeed for all Democrats.  Get to work, everyone.  Get to work if you want to win.
