Victoria Advocate Endorses Shane Sklar: Part 2

by: Shane Sklar for TX14

Wed Oct 25, 2006 at 11:24 AM CDT

(The most important congressional race in Texas. - promoted by Phillip Martin)

Today, the Victoria Advocate laid out a detailed account of all the ways Ron Paul has failed to be an effective representative for CD14 in an editorial titled "Ineffective Paul must be replaced." They took a close look at Paul's record of legislative accomplishments, leadership in Congress, and ability to gather support from his fellow members. What they found was a member who can't get anything done for CD14.

They conclude by saying:

Ron Paul has a long record of being all but useless in meeting the legislative needs of the district he seeks to continue representing. The 14th Congressional District of Texas can do better.

Ron Paul (0.00 / 0)
And this editorial didn't even take time
to mention his opponent. It was focused
on demolishing Ron Paul.  So they can
do another to endorse Sklar.

Way to go!

About time (0.00 / 0)
I can't say I remember seeing the Victoria Advocate write an editorial like that after endorsing the other guy.  One day it's "vote for Shane Sklar", and a couple days later it's "seriously, we mean it".  Can't wait to see what they say next.

Go Shane!

Paul's not ineffective (0.00 / 0)
Just look at Lamar Smith's record for the last six years.  Smith is one of the most powerful Texans in the House, and while he's had more bills passed than Paul, he also rode Tom DeLay's coattails for 19 years.  It's fair to call Smith the "do-nothingest" House member of the do-nothing 109th.

Paul is saddled by the fact that he WON'T bring home needless, wasteful pork to his district.  If Paul had his way, his district -- and all of America -- would see Federal taxes cut by half, and those tax dollars would stay in the local communities where they belong.

Smith, on the other hand, can't even get budget money transferred to pay the electric bill at Fort Sam Houston -- delinquent since March.  The official word from Lamar Smith is here: http://lamarsmith.ho...

So basically you're saying (0.00 / 0)
Paul's ineffectiveness is not a bug, it's a feature.
