Republican Rep. Quico Canseco Sends Out Despicable Mailer About Abortion

by: Ben Sherman

Tue Oct 16, 2012 at 09:00 AM CDT

Quico Canseco is very afraid. He's on the ropes in his Congressional contest against Pete Gallego and details of his controversial car accident are emerging. In response to all this, Canseco has decided it's time to scrape the bottom of the barrel.

Below you can see the front and back of a mailer that Canseco sent to Texans all over the 23rd congressional district. This is the most pathetic type of ad. To accuse Pete Gallego, an immensely compassionate and Catholic man, of wanting to "kill babies" is an outrage. Canseco has nothing in his arsenal; he's beholden to corporations, and he doesn't care that he promotes disastrous policies like restricting the definition of rape.

So it's not exactly unexpected. But it is pathetic and completely wrong. The mailer lies about Gallego's position on parental notification - he's for it - and omits all his efforts to make abortion rare, like fully funding family planning services and prenatal care centers. Yet another reason on the pile of reasons never to vote for this pisher.

Help Pete Gallego fight back. Donate to Pete through Burnt Orange to Blue.

Canseco's mailer (0.00 / 0)
Maria is six weeks pregnant, her 'baby' is a bit bigger than a sesame seed. It doesn't have a thumb to suck and its 'loving' heart is no bigger than the period at the end of this sentence.
