At long last, on this 31st day of July, our Texas primary season will conclude with some lingering runoffs.
Polls close at 7:00 p.m. If you are in line at 7:00 you will be allowed to vote. Early vote should be in shortly after 7:00 p.m. Election Day results will trickle in throughout the night.

Liveblog of Primary Returns:
We're posted up at Scholz with a bunch of UDems and Democratic volunteers, and a large crew of Ted-Cruz-loving Republicans. It is... odd.
Update 7:49 p.m. With early voting in, it's clear that a few races are going down to the wire. CD-23 is close, with less than 200 votes separating Pete and Ciro. Veasey is up almost 1000 votes over Garcia. Meanwhile, Ted Cruz is ahead of David Dewhurst and Dr. Donna Campbell is utterly destroying Jeff Wentworth.
Update 8:02 p.m. In Republican State Rep races, incumbent Republicans are being tossed out on their behinds by a range of challengers.
Incumbent Republican Chuck Hopson, Democratic turncoat, is losing in the run-off to Travis Clardy. Given the heightened partisanship of the electorate, that is no surprise.
Incumbent Republican JM Lozano, another Democratic turncoat, is also losing, proving yet again that Republicans cannot re-elect Hispanics in primaries when they are facing Anglo last names. He's totally getting "Victor Carillo'ed," just like SCOTX justice David Medina is in his runoff.
Incumbent Sid Miller, the man who forced transvaginal ultrasound wands in the women of Texas, is losing, in what can only be considered a victory for vaginas everywhere.
Incumbent Jim Landtroop is also losing despite high-profile Republican endorsements, to Ken King. King earned the endorsements of the other challengers to Landtroop in the race.
Update 8:10 p.m. In Democratic State Rep. races, BOR-endorsed Nicole Collier is up by over 20% over Jesse Gaines. Meanwhile, BOR-endorsed Tina Torres is down by about 19%. Gene Wu is besting Jamaal Smith by an over 2-1.
Here in Travis County, incumbent Democratic Constable Adan Ballesteros is beating gun nut Michael Cargill by a wide margin.
Update 8:20 p.m. Sorry that the GoogleDoc is screwy. No one has negative votes yet as far as we can tell. Meanwhile as KT fixes the formulas, let's see what my other colleagues have to say:
Tina Torres was losing Early Vote the first time around, because there's a large faction of Cortez voters in the south part of the district that vote early. She won E-Day in the primary. It's going to come down to E-Day. -- Chaille Jolink
The Constable results are comforting to me mainly because it shows that money alone -- and dirty outside Ron Paul money at that -- does not win elections (hopefully). -- Michael Hurta
Updated 8:31 p.m. Quick analysis on Statewide Republican races:
US SEN: Ted Cruz is widening his lead in the E-Day numbers reported so far. The Dew is totally toast. On the upside, there's no way Dan Patrick will be Lt. Gov this next session if The Dew is stuck here in Texas.
RR COMMISH: Christi Craddick is currently coasting on her last name to a wide 19% margin over Warren Chisum, which just goes to show how much Republicans still love themselves some Tom Craddick. AP has called the race for Craddick.
Barry Smitherman is also winning handily. He had consolidated most of the big-name Republican support and newspaper endorsements.
AP just called SD-25 for Dr. Donna Campbell. It's a sad, sad day for moderate Republicans when a far-right looney-tunes pseudo-ER doctor can oust a seven-term State Senate incumbent. I guess this means we'll never see Wentworth's independent redistricting commission come to fruition.
Update 8:42 p.m. Here are some county-by-county results on our contested Dem Congressional races.
CD-33:
Garcia is up 3,320-1,380 over Veasey in Dallas County.
Veasey is up 4,966-2,107 over Garcia in Tarrant County.
Veasey needs to run up the score in Tarrant and hold it as close as possible in Dallas.
CD-23: In the early voting...
Bexar: Ciro is up 1,732-1,252. He won it 57%-28% in the first round.
Maverick: Pete is up 2,118-1,975. Ciro won this the first time around 58%-32%.
Loving: Pete is up 10-2. Oh, Loving County.
El Paso: Pete is up 616-427. Ciro won this the first time around, 48%-31%.
Medina: Ciro is up 172-112. Ciro won 54%-23% in the first round.
Frio: Ciro is up 845-515. He won it 59%-23% in the first round.
Update 8:49 p.m.
JM Lozano is now up based on a strong E-Day performance. Grr.
Sid Miller is still losing. Despite forcing sonogram probes in our lady-business and making it legal to hunt feral hogs from a helicopter, he lost. Sorry, hard not to gloat here. But it should make you wonder about the other guy and how conservative HE is -- but at least that guy has no seniority.
Update 9:29 p.m. Updates from Republican primaries:
US Sen: The Dew is losing by almost 10 points right now. Yowza.
CD-14: Randy Weber looks to have it sewn up. AP called it for Weber.
CD-25: Roger Williams winning handily over Tea Party favorite Wes Riddle.
CD-36: Steve Stockman is leading, thanks in large part to his "Re-Elect Steve Stockman" signs, possibly making him the first former Congressman to win re-election to Congress based on misleading yard signs.
SCOTX Place 4: David Medina is getting totally "Victor Carillo'ed" by John Devine, proving yet again that Republican primary voters aren't inclined to elect a real Hispanic if there's a White Guy in the race.
Update 9:47 p.m. Meanwhile in our two hotly contested Democratic primaries...
CD-23: Early and E-Day so far:
Pete is up 12,017 to 10,703 over Ciro.
Bexar: 2,468-1,712 for Ciro (1080-650 Ciro on E-Day)
El Paso: 616-427 for Pete (no E-Day)
Frio: 845-515 for Ciro (403-275 Ciro on E-Day)
Maverick: 2,118-1,975 for Pete (no E-Day)
Reeves: 1,015-457 for Pete (no E-Day)
Uvalde: 457-364 for Pete (177-96 Pete E-Day)
CD-33: Early and E-Day so far:
Dallas: 4771-1921 for Garcia
Tarrant: 7,797-3,587 for Veasey
Veasey leads by ~1,400 votes
