Video of floor discussion and vote on impeachment resolution at the TDP state convention

by: Scott Cobb

Wed Jun 14, 2006 at 09:16 PM CDT

The “Impeach Bush Resolution Campaign” delivered 1357 signatures to the party signed by more than 30% of the delegates to the 2006 Texas Democratic Party state convention in Fort Worth. The resolution called on the U.S. House of Representatives to impeach President George W. Bush for high crimes and misdemeanors and for willfully violating his Oath of Office to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. The resolution failed in a close vote on the floor of the convention.

Hooman Hedayati, 19 and a student at The University of Texas at Austin, took the video and edited it into its current form. He spent about 20 hours collecting signatures at the convention, along with several other people.

That was hilarious (0.00 / 0)
God I wish I had been on the floor. It reminds me of the Dept. of Peace resolution from 2 years ago being debated on the floor with Slagle.

awesome video scott! (0.00 / 0)
you did a GREAT job speaking at the convention.

dan dodd was pretty funny too, saying bush was stupid and cheney was evil.

i also think staples did a pretty good job of moderating.  and his quip about not having the microphones swept was pretty funny.

one note, though.  hooman put in a clip of me speaking in favor of the withdrawal from iraq resolution.  i don't know if you meant to do that, but i did not get the chance to speak at the mic during the impeachment debate.

lol, I think that was probably my mistake.
I didn't know you are annatopia! I was video taping you when you were talking about the iraq resolution and the tape ended. Your video was next to the impeachment videos and since I didnt' have start of your speech I thought that it was part of the impeachment video. Anyway I think it goes together, so if thats ok for you I'll just leave it there.

you know.... (0.00 / 0)
one observation.  i wish that staples had actually told the convention what i said during my point of information.  i tried yelling loudly but i don't know if everyone heard me.  i told him that we had a resolution out of committee that called for impeachment of both bush and cheney, and he never told that to the attendees.
