Now for the last 4 supers (0.00 / 0)
Now if we can get the last four supers to commit.  There's no excuse for this to go on any longer. Sen. Reid and Congresswoman Pelosi have called for all the supers to commit by the end of next week.  Let's see if the last four can actually call the ball and commit, regardless of their "organizational issues."  The longer we keep dragging this contest out and the more we spend on it the less we have to fight John McCain.  We're committed but we're not insanely rich.

Bob Strauss (former DNC chair) won't until it's all said and done or maybe as part of a set of supers to end this thing as per his column earlier this month. Linda Chavez-Thompson, who knows, she's a total mystery. Rep. Lampson doesn't want to endorse at all because he needs every activist he can keep for re-election but could be part of the congressional set that will announce collectively to end it. David Hardt has been a disappointment on all this. Voted for Clinton in the primary, but because he was YDA chair and all the youth support Obama didn't make it official. I'm not sure what has been gained by that strategy in either world.

David Hardt cannot endorse as a superdelegate... (2.00 / 1)
until all the primaries are completed, per the rules of the Young Democrats of America. To do otherwise would be to possibly face sanctions, up to and including removal from office.

David has been a fantastic president for YDA, and will work hard for the Democratic nominee in the Fall.

I'm glad to see Boyd and Betty come out for Obama so strongly before the convention. Boyd's been leading the Texas Democratic Party into a much brighter future, as shown by the strong gains we made in 2006, and this endorsement further establishes him as a forward-looking leader who's ready to take Texas Democrats back to the majority.

can you point to the rule? (0.00 / 0)
Because I'm kind of surprised that hasn't been pointed out before. Including from David when I've heckled him about this at events. :)

Well, good to know (0.00 / 0)
Kind of like University Democrats constitution barring presidential endorsements. Of course Byron had a fit when I threatened to challenge that in 2004. =P
