One fitting memorial was interrupted (0.00 / 0)

I tried to log on to a video on the Austin American-Statesman web page, where their cartoonist Ben Sargent was discussing Ann Richards.  What I got instead was a commercial for Rick Perry.

It seems Perry just doesn't know when to stop.

If that wasn't enough, Perry's message was about how he spent state money on his immigration initiative at the border.  He's wrong about that, too. 
Immigration is a Federal issue.  The President of the United States has taken an oath of office to enforce these Federal laws.  But when Bush would not enforce them, it is not the place of local taxpayers in the border states to pay for the Federal responsibilities.

What was the right answer?  The Governor should have made a proposal to the Federal government, in dollars and cents, for what he believed was needed at the border.  He should have asked the Federal government for personnel and materials to carry out a plan to enforce the Federal law.  And, of course, the right answer was for Perry to have suspended his political advertising during the time we are honoring the memory of Governor Ann Richards.

Perry is desperate, nervous, and disconnected.  I predict we'll see more of this before he's done.
