Challenge to Armbrister

By Karl-Thomas Musselman

Texas Senate seats don't seem to be attracting much interest from either party this cycle, due in part to their sheer size (they are as big most Congressional districts), as well as the fact most have been drawn to be uncompetitive. Open seats seem to drawing replacements from their own parties (SD 7 and Austin's own SD 14).

But word comes today that Sen. Armbrister (D- Sorta) will be challenged by anti-Toll activist David Stall in SD 18, who is running as a Republican. Stall at the same time, is working against Rick Perry's Trans Texas Corridor in any way, shape, or form that it crops up (which includes Amendment's 1 and 9 in the eyes of most Anti-Toll Roaders).

Stall will be making his formal announcement speech via Internet Broadcast, Monday at 2 pm, at www.StallForSenate.org.

Please see www.garygates18.com. Gary, a Fort Bend Republican activist and successful business owner announced for SD18 more than six months ago and has been campaigning consistently since then with successful fundraisers and barbecues across the district. Please noted that in Texas today senate districts are BIGGER than US House Districts b/c there are 31 senate districts while now 32 US House Districts.

Sometime, the fun is in the nitty-gritty details.

Reminds me a little bit of Ted Ankrum.

yeah, I love these guys Chris. I think Ankrum's listing of positions on every possible issue still is my favorite. not in a good way though...

Awww, he took so many of them down! That list used to be huge.

At least we still know that he's a choir director. Most of the good Congressmen are. =)

Senator Armbrister happens to be the most anti- Trans Texas Corridor member of the Senate. He always fares poorly in Fort Bend County (and Washington County) but he racks up big numbers in the rest of the district. But most importantly, he campaigns year around every year. His constituents actually KNOW their Senator. He's also sitting on 1.2 million in the campaign till.

Well Stall's going to have all kinds of free help on his campaign, what with all the elves...

I didn't realize the North Pole was in Armbrister's district.

No elves, but there is a small band of gnomes in rural Fayette County. Stall is their spiritual leader.
