State Rep. Richard Raymond Officially Running in CD28

By Drew Clinton

State Representative Richard Raymond (D-Laredo) will announce his candidacy for Congressional District 28 on the south Capitol steps at 10:00 AM on Thursday.

Though this is merely a formality given the rather palpable hype and speculation surrounding the representative lately, it will mark the beginnings of what will prove to be a captivating and spirited primary amongst several well-known South Texas Democrats.

Henry cuellar is still the better candidate .Henry works with both partys to bring progress.Raymond support abortion. On redistricting he was showboating acting like he cares, he was put up to it look like a so call hero .He should run aginst bonilla.By the way raymond last name use to be ramon before the name change. In laredo it good [henry] againt evil[ raymond].

Didn't he just announce his candidacy today in CD 28, or is Jaime Castillo wrong?

Juan,

You are peddling blatant lies and its wrong. There is no place for people like you in the Democratic Party. There have been other Cuellar supporters on BOR repeating the same lies and deceptions. Lets have a debate over the issues and not a debate over irrelevant things, especially when they are false.

What about the lies ramon had said ,that henry was campaigning againts sanchez in 2002 and that henry is for privating social secuirty. It alright for raymond to lie and not ok for henry support to tell the truth.

Anybody but Cuellar, whether that be Rodriguez or Raymond. Hopefully it will be the more progressive Rodriguez. Democrats need to put a democrat in this office.

Henry is a moderate democrat. He has brought results to his district.what is that you demon crats dont like about h.c.is he too honest for you activists.

raymond is just another example of why we are a minority party and nowhere near the road to becoming a majority party--infighting.
we already have ciro to challenge cuellar, raymond should be running in the 23rd district against bonilla (where raymond lives).
i suggest we Ds all get both eyes back on the ball and focus on beating Rs. And David needs to clarify that he is on the Raymond payroll everytime he sucks Raymond off on this blog.
