Another Drunken Bush

By Karl-Thomas Musselman

I think I had a Government class with him last semester. And does anyone else find it odd that his initials spell J.E.B.?

The youngest son of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was arrested in downtown Austin early today on charges of public intoxication and resisting arrest, officials said.

John Ellis Bush, 21, was taken into custody around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Trinity and Sixth streets near the downtown entertainment district. He was released around 10:30 a.m. today on a personal recognizance bond. Bail had been set at $2,500.

An affidavit on the public intoxication charge was not immediately available; according to an affidavit for the resisting arrest charge, Bush continually pushed against an officer for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission as the officer attempted to handcuff him.

"Subject further resisted by pushing back with his body as he was restrained at the (Austin Police Department) transport van," the document said.

Bush is the nephew of President George W. Bush.

Actually, I think daddy's name is also John Ellis Bush, hence JEB. I'm sure everyone thinks Jeb is for Jebediah, but nope. It's just his initials put together.

I thought the Bush family was the poster family for family values in Florida? One son who likes to get drunk and throw his weight around with cops, another son who apparently likes to break into his girlfriend's home and then tear up her front yard with his truck, a drug addict daughter and a wife who likes to smuggle in designer clothes. I think Pat Robertson ought to pay more attention to what's going on in Tallahassee than what's going on at Disney World.

And then we have Jenna and Barbara. No wonder their father wants to give all that money to "faith-based" groups. It's called hush money. As in "Hush. Don't say a word about the Bush family. They give us all this money."

No doubt the White House will remind us that they are, after all, just kids. Just as he was. "And look how he turned out. He's the president of the United States!"

I thought y'all were the 'rehab' party. Those people that offend societies laws ahould be able to rehabilitate themselves back into civil society. By your comments above, thats just lip service. Noele's problems haven't resurfaced since her problem occured. The mother hasn't had any reocurances. The twins also have cleaned themselves up and have graduated college and are doing good work. One teaching in underpriviledged neighborhoods. The other attending medical school in Houston, attending to some of our recently displaced citizens of Katrina. And Karl should have been able to see future president George Prescott Bush's behavior while attending UT Law.

Your examples above really solidify the State of Texas death penalty laws. No reason to hope of rehabing these people given the death penalty, just get the needle ready.

Well, it's true they've graduated from college. I don't know how that particular fact argues for their good character, but, point taken. As far as the last point, I'm not sure what they are doing that's so good, but on the first point, there's no shortage of drunken Bush daughter stories that keep the gossip pages filled to this day, so they definitely haven't cleaned up. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Paris Hilton is settling down, so someone needs to pick up the reins.

Rehab is a two way street. Just because times goes by does not mean that the parties have "rehabbed."

The person involved has to want to change. Have the Bush daughters enrolled in AA. Has George P Bush enrolled in anger management classes. Has JEB junior taken therapy to stem his penchant for socially deviant behavior? Has the former first lady sought counseling for her thievery?

I missed something. Were one of the Bush Babies sentenced to death? The jury should have hit them where it hurts a Bush most. Life sentence working at Wal-Mart for minimum wage with no access to the family fortune. In either case, not to worry. One of the presidents Bush will pardon them. They pardon everyone else. Including Cuban terrorists. Terrorism to the Bushes depends on whose airplane you just blew up. Our president said he wanted to declare war on terrorism and those who support it. Someone should have reminded him that sometimes war, like charity, begins at home. Quite a few who support terrorism are usually sitting at one of the Bush dining room tables discussing their next "bidness" deal. Or taking elocution lessons on how to pronounce things in "Texan." He could have blown up a couple of dining rooms and done more to fight terrorism than blowing up Afghanistan and Iraq. Of course then he wouldn't have had the oil and gas and the pipelines and Halliburton wouldn't have had all those contracts and ain't life grand when you're president? Your buddies need some money? Declare war, destroy a country, and start handing out the contracts. And shoot the bird at anyone who protests. Or just shoot them.

"And Karl should have been able to see future president George Prescott Bush's behavior while attending UT Law."

Just breeding like rats I tell you. Maybe George P can pardon the whole family when he becomes President Bush Number 40 something. You know they've taken over when start referring to themselves by their assigned number. Number 41 and 43. They're trying to adopt Number 42 to keep the dynasty intact. They haven't figured out what to do with Hillary though. Maybe they should just start naming all the sons George with an initial. That way if you can't remember which number they are, you can at least remember the initial. George P is definitely something to look forward to. No more smart bombs with him. Just tear up everyone's front yard with the 4x4s. That will bring everyone in line real quick. Even in Baghdad. Where we probably will still be when he becomes president.

And George W Bush has certainly rehabbed himself well through the years, hasn't he? He's gone from blowing up frogs to blowing up people. Always the mark of maturity. Fine example of a man and a leader. Following in the fascist footsteps of his great-grandfather Samuel Bush. "Heil to the chief" would be more appropriate when he enters a room.

Peter, you have upset Snooks terribly. Here I had great hope for our nation's youth. Shame on you.

The yard thing is ancient history. Sorry you had you wake up with my post, not really. 'P' is working in Dallas for the former DNC Chair Robert Strauss. Going to be a great guy. We ought to see him getting active by 2012, with a run in the 2020's. We'll see after Bush 44 happens. Get ready for the "J" campaign. Great family, very much like America. Plain spoken, refreshing isn't it.

"Great family, very much like America."

Reading about them is like reading about the Borgias. Guess it depends on your definition of family.

Why am I not surprised at this.
