The Circus Comes to Texas...
By Damon McCullar
...and the Elephants are taking center stage. If you haven't been following the mudslinging, let me bring you up date.
First the Perry campaign called Ms. Strayhorn a whore for asking for the votes of Democrats in the Republican Primary. Of course the Strayhorn campaign demanded an apology for the comments.
Now the Strayhorn camp has released a radio spot calling Mr. Perry a "big-taxing liberal" and going on to say "Perry called our Legislature back into special session six times, twice just begging ‘em to pass the largest tax increase in Texas history. And not one penny for education". Not to be out done, the Perry camp responded with "It’s clear now that she will not be using her trial-lawyer money to offer Texas voters anything positive".
So get your popcorn and peanuts, sit back, relax and enjoy the show. This big top will be in the state until March.

If you're going to talk about the campaign, at least do it accurately. The Perry campaign did not call Strayhorn a "whore," they compared the act of Democrats voting for her in the primary to a "one-night stand."
Perhaps it is most indicative of your uptight moral views that YOU view anyone who has engaged in a one-night stand as a whore. In any case, try not to push your BS morals on me or the Perry campaign. Better yet, try to get the facts straight next time.
BS morals? I have no morals. Only scruples.
The Perry campaign intimated that she was a whore. I think someone actually called her a slut. She ain't giving it away. She expects votes on the nightstand as the one-night stand leaves.
Hurry, hurry, hurry....step right up and win a prize. I want a front row seat to the Republican Gladiator Coliseum to watch the in-fighting first hand. This matchup is going to add humor to my day and I am going to enjoy watching them rip each other apart. It is less work for us!
Ah, what a bunch: all the Fine Republican Cannibals, with their superficial, pious, lying, greedy, narrow minded, defensive, bigoted, whiter than white "MoFo morality" stripped away.
Already it looks like a scene from the just released DVD classic "Week End" or maybe Bunuel's "The Discreet Charm of the Bourgoisie"
Looks like the fun, in the form of a three ring, very low rent political burlesque, has just begun.
And we will definitely stay tuned.
Do we (i.e., Texas Dems) have a dog in this fight?
Rick Perry certainly has very low approval ratings, I think he might be the easier target.
well, snooks, it's good to hear you admit that you have no morals.
But I have scruples. That means I only screw people in bed.
