A Note from Juan
By Karl-Thomas Musselman
Yes, I know I said I'd not be posting much. And I'm not, but when I get interesting communication and stories, I just can't sit on them for two weeks.
I was quite excited today when I saw a message from Juan Garcia in my inbox today after my recent (and totally late) post about his being at our Fredericksburg July 4th parade. (We are gearing up for the Gillespie County Democratic float for the County Fair parade this next week, so if I'm here I'll be riding in that.)
I don't make it a policy to print e-mail exchanges at all, but there were a couple of lines that inspired me and gave me hope that even though we don't hear as much out there about Juan Garcia, there is still a very real chance that we may soon enough.
I am interested in continuing public service since leaving the active duty Navy; The past weekend spent visiting two buddies at ****'s Burn Unit in San Antonio only intensified that desire. But as you know, you only get one chance to be a first-time candidate: indebted to no one, aligned with no faction, free to follow your own conscience. I want to be smart about it. I appreciate your work, and look forward to meeting.
I haven’t even had a chance to meet him yet and I'm already a fan. Juan if you're reading, know that this blogger is behind you, and that wherever and whenever you feel prepared to serve again, we'll be ready.

Juan is running for St. Rep. against Gene Seamen.
He will announce in next few weeks.
This is great news!!!! I've always believed Rep. Seaman's seat could be flipped and I hope Mr. Garcia is the one who can do it!
