The Wong Answer

Via Quorum Report for the second time today.
Ellen Cohen, the President and CEO of the Houston Area Women's Center has decided to challenge incumbent Republican Martha Wong. Cohen will be filing her papers and naming her treasurer around the first of next month.
Huzzah for that. Just like I belive Kelly White's similar background would have made a great addition to the legislature, I hope that Ellen Cohen will incorperate that into her campaign. This should be an exciting woman on woman battle in which the gay community in that district should be heavily involved.

I worked with Ellen Cohen during the 1980's
on the Houston Police Advisory Task Force and cannot imagine anyone better qualified (general intelligence, positions on issues and political street smarts) to help fix the mess in Austin.

As long as Cohen campaigns her arse off, I'm all for her.
Cohen might not be the only challenger. I know another potential challenger, and I will make sure Burnt Orange Report knows of the man when he wishes his intentions to be made public.
