R.I.P.
By Byron LaMasters
Via Kos diaries.
This is what Senator Kerry did today.
When will President Bush join Senator Kerry in paying his respects to the brave American men and women who have fallen serving our country?

To Be quick here, how many funerals did LBJ go to? Here we have one appearence for Sen. Kerry. This is a very nice occurance. I'm glad to see this picture, but your spinning of this event is wrong. Our President meets with victims of this war all the time. I'm sure there are pictures that haven't been published. Whenever he travels the country, he has meet with them. Our President has honored our Fallen many times, and continues to honor them ever day.
You have a 'right' to spin, I just feel its wrong in this case.
LBJ, not a whole bunch.
Two more than the chimp.

FWIW, over the past 40 years, all of the Democratic presidents have attended funerals or memorial services, and only one of the Republican presidents, Reagan.
I think Kerry would have made a good president. I do not think he made a good candidate.
Indeed, it seems, the very attributes which would make one a good president make one a poor candidate - intelligence, the willingness to think about the consequence of actions, and compassion. All three are construed as weakness - when they are wisdom.
Brian... I agree. Kerry was generally a poor candidate, but I think he would have made a good / great president. It's a shame.
I'll add a second to that comment Brian. Nice to see you posting around these parts as well, considering for many people that read the Texan at least, you should be a household(dormhold?) name.
