Red Sox Win!!
By Andrew Dobbs
For the first time in 86 years...
THE BOSTON RED SOX ARE THE WORLD CHAMPIONS
The curse does not exist. Yankees suck. John Kerry will be President.
The last time this happened we were in a relatively unpopular war... World War I.
Though it was not a presidential election year, an internationalist intellectual Democrat- Woodrow Wilson- was president (much like the man we will soon elect).
God, I am so excited I can barely breathe.
Congratulations to all of the guys that made this possible- Curt Schilling and Manny Ramirez (my two favorite players) especially. This is absolutely amazing.
I'll stop now, but go Sox!

New England Patriots win th Super Bowl. Red Sox win tonight, John Kerry wins next week. It's Boston's year...
This is a good sign, but what we really need to watch is the Green Bay Packers vs. the Washington Redskins on Sunday. The Redskins winning or losing their last home game before the election has accurately predicted the last 15 presidential elections. If the redskins win the incumbent party stays in the white house. If they lose the incumbent party loses the election. GO PACKERS!!!
wow...that's pretty compelling stuff. though baseball gives us a forecast of a kerry win, too. i was watching sportscenter earlier this week and in the did you know segment at the end, it said that the cards and sox have each won the series twice in election years, and each time that either has done so, a democrat has carried the election.
I'm delighted that Boston's win took place at Busch Stadium.
Steve Gilliard had the comment that would look best on a T-shirt:
The Red Sox kicked ass, took names and slept with your mom, on video.
Yeah, but what I want to know is, was there an eclipse during the winning game of the World Series in 1918? Astronomers? Astrologitst?
Damn. That should be 'astrologists'.
