Pick the Picks

Which newspapers in Texas will endorse Kerry? Which papers in Texas will endorse Bush?
My predictions here.

You forgot the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal which will definitely endorse Bush. If they did otherwise, the paper would be attacked by a mob of religious zealouts and right-wing ditto-heads and would be burned to the ground.
With all due respect, no way in hell the DMN even considers Kerry, and the Express-News editor is already on record saying a Bush endorsement is basically in the bag - see here for the gloomy details. Frankly, if any of the five major dailies endorse Kerry, I'll be shocked.
Oh, and the El Paso Times is a conservative rag - they were one of the very few papers to condemn the Killer Ds.
My guess is the Statesman goes with either a tepid Bush endorsement (don't change horses mid-race or some crap like that) or they endorse no one. The Statesman has got to be the most gutless major paper in Texas, maybe in the US. Comfotably non-controversial on anything. They write editorials that would have been at the forefront 2 years before, but when the Statesman finally gets around to saying something on an issue, it has already become non-controversial. I will stop now before this becomes a general anti-Statesman rant. Needless to say, the capital of one of the largest states in the country could use at least a decent, if not an excellent, daily.
BTW its the El Paso Times, but they are the most conservative thing is this town, they will endorse Kerry just as they endorsed Perry in 02.
I swear, if I had some money, I would open up my own paper here in El Paso.
OOOPSSS I mean endorse Bush! (I was being optismistic)
Wouldn't it be a good idea for the democratic party to do a huge campaign urging all voters forced to vote electronically to keep their own paper copy of thier votes? This is not a perfect solution, but might help influence a fair outcome.
