National HIV Testing Day

It's fast. It's easy. It's painless. Get tested if you're at risk for HIV / AIDS. Today is the national HIV Testing Day, so do it.

But is it confidential? Concern about confidentiality is, I suspect, a major reason why people at risk don't get tested.
Unfortunately, under the USA "PATRIOT" Act, the answer appears to be no.
"PATRIOT" Act aside, it might be wise not to file an insurance claim for an HIV test, since the very act of being tested can be taken as evidence that one is at-risk for infection (and therefore a poor insurance risk).
Everywhere that I ever remember being tested at offers annonymous testing - so it's probably advisible to get tested annonymously, given what you said.
