Fahrenheit 9/11

By Byron LaMasters

Saw it tonight. It was very well done. It's funny, entertaining and depressing all at the same time. Yeah, if you hate Bush, as I do, you'll leave the movie theator hating Bush more (even if that's hard to believe). If you like Bush, you'll probably take it as liberal Michael Moore propoganda. I wore one of my John Kerry t-shirts to the theater and had two people ask me where they could get one. Go to Kerry Gear dot com. It's the official John Kerry for President store. On the way out, I ran into Congressman Martin Frost who was waiting in line for the next showing, and had the opportunity to talk to him for a minute or two. He wasn't sure what to expect from the movie, but wanted to know what everyone was talking about. It was good to see a lot of people line up to shake hands with Martin Frost. It wasn't a campaign event, but he was easily recognized by many of us as we left the theater. I might have more thoughts on the movie tomorrow. It's definitely worth seeing for any Democrat or Independent voter. I was glad to see less of Michael Moore, and more of real people that were effected by the war - like the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq. She's a patriotic woman that puts up her flag every morning, only to see her son killed in Iraq.... for what? A lie by the President of the United States. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Anyway back to Martin Frost, if you haven't yet, donate to Martin Frost. He was Tom DeLay's number one target with redistricting, and he's the leader of the Texas Democratic Congressional delegation for years. Help him out.

And of course, get the liar out of the White House, too. Donate to John Kerry.

You people make me sick,,,,, how can you throw slander and revel in this moore pile of crap that is clearly made to defame and defile our own president??????? you are all fools and you make me ashamed to call YOU TEXANS.... which I am sure most of you are not ,, not real ones anyway. what do you think this idiot would have done with a blunder like the KENNEDY bay of pigs embarassment,,huh???or the fact that Roosevelt was a NAZI SYMPYTHIZER?????and how come he doesnt make a film about all the DEM. governing body of TEXAS running off to OK. HUH??? BTW(how much of our taxpayers money was wasted on that little venture,I wonder ??)we should have you all impeached for that little stunt.... YOU ARE ALL A BLIGHT ON MY STATE.

Quite the incoherent rant. On the scale of political discourse, it appears that Billie's rant rates one level above Dick Cheney's, "Go fuck yourself."

Then again, what do you expect from a Republican.

P.S. I wonder if she has even seen the movie.

Well someone is full of rage...

I seriously doubt that Billie J has even seen the movie. Last night we saw it, in a packed house, by the way. I don't see how anyone could watch it and come away believing GW should have one more day in the White House. Ironically, we sat behind a Muslim family, head scarves and all. When leaving, I asked how they liked it. The father said they were Saudis and agreed completely with Moore's assessment of the Saudi role and the financial connections between the bin Laden family and the Bush family.

I saw the movie last night and I was so proud to see the majority of folks there were in the 18 to 35 range. Billy does need to see the movie, most of the words come from GW and assoc. mouths. I am a lifelong WEST Texan, and no I am not proud of him!

Moore takes the facts and combines them with effective emotional appeals. Yes, his view is obviously slanted, but he doesn't out-and-out lie. Some might call this propaganda, but it is what people on the right have been doing to people on the left for the last twenty years, and that's the main reason our country (and our state) is in the mess it's in right now. I feel that it's about time we fought fire with fire.

I'm a fifth generation Texan and I don't like him, Billie. Put the bottle down and sleep it off. :)

"YOU ARE ALL A BLIGHT ON MY STATE."
If Billie-Bob ever shows up in MY state, Illinois, perhaps to take advantage of one of our fine mental healthcare facilities, we'll teach him a thing or two about blight abatement. :P

Seeing Fahrenheit 9/11 is about as close as I get to a religious experience these days.
This sounds a bit awkward, but it was sort of like a ceremonial recitation of truths combined with a bestowing of empowerment by asociation.

It's true that many of the points Moore makes in Fahrenheit 9/11 have been written about in books and articles earlier this year. But in this film they are brought together where they can be viewed as different branches of the same tree.
And Moore very effectively puts a human face on those affected by administration policies.

I loathe George W. Bush and am disgusted by what he has done to our country. But this film made me realize that, if anything, I had previously overestimated his I.Q.

This film is, so far, the top grossing film of the weekend. And in just 2.5 days of release, it has become the top grossing documentary ever.

As of mid-afternoon Sunday, the film was already $5 million in the black. :D

This is like Christmas six months early. I hope the DVD is released in mid-October. Think of how much fun it would be if you were able to give the DVDs to trick-or-treaters in Sugar Land or Plano. haha

The film may get people to think, but it is still up to us to get them registered and to the polls on November 2nd. But Fahrenheit 9/11 makes that task a bit easier.

Saw the movie Friday night, and I thought it was very well done. But I don't agree with the comment that anyone who sees the movie can't ever support Bush. I'll be voting for him in November.
