Escort Agencies, Strip Clubs Prepare for GOP Convention

By Byron LaMasters

Yeah. Yeah, the hypocrites:

With thousands of Republicans set to invade the city this summer, high-priced escorts and strippers are preparing for one grand old party. Agencies are flying in extra call girls from around the globe to meet the expected demand during the Aug. 30-Sept. 2 gathering at Madison Square Garden.

"We have girls from London, Seattle, California, all coming in for that week," said a madam at a Manhattan escort service. "It's the week everyone wants to work."

"It's going to be big," agreed one operator at a midtown escort service.

[...]

That's the hope among escort services expecting a windfall from randy Republicans.

"We've got everything organized - the hotels, the flights, the advertisements," said another escort service operator. "We'll probably have 60 girls that week, instead of the usual 30."

It's not just the escort agencies that are expected to thrive with thousands of Republicans in town. The strip clubs are gearing up for increased business as well:

Clubs have started booking private parties for delegates anxious to ogle topless beauties after a day of watching fully clothed politicians boast about family values.

You really can't put it much better than that. The delegates engaging in these services will likely sit idly throughout the days as they listen to their party leadership speak of the evils of gay marriage. Then, they'll go out at night and indulge themselves in activities that poise a much greater threat to marriage than two gays or lesbians does. Oh well. Perhaps, Rick Perry is on to something. If this article is any indication of how much Republicans enjoy strip clubs, then perhaps it'll be easier to fund our schools than I thought with Perry's proposed strip club tax. Ya know, it's for the kids after all.

Talk about catering to the right-wingers. Keep an eye out for Bill Clinton in NYC that week... =)

You can't support Chick-Fil-A. I doubt you were inclined to in the first place, but you don't seem to be supporting strippers or call girls any more for "political" reasons.

So, chuckling to myself, I wonder... Aren't they just exercising their right to privacy? Family cohesiveness be damned! Its THEIR bodies, after all. Its THEIR choice. You should be applauding the people who are looking to help these "ladies" pursue their constitutional rights...

Laughing openly, I wonder... Since when have madams and strip club owners been the unchallenged source of news and information? Hmmmm... right about the time it started looking politically good for liberals like yourself.

Now, stroking my chin contemplatively... Did it ever occur to you that there are only 5,000 delegates and alternates to this convention, yet there will be thousands of other people invading NYC like journalists, technicians, vendors, etc.?

Ahh... but objective thinking shouldn't get in the way of liberal agenda. My apologies. =)

Good point just made by my wife, giggling at your sexist take on this article. You totally and conspicuously ignore the female take on this story. Byron...I wouldn't expect you to be so narrow-minded. =)

Half of the Republican delegates are WOMEN... Maybe they're the ones who are "booking private parties for delegates anxious to ogle topless beauties after a day of watching fully clothed politicians boast about family values."

Or would that be the story out of Boston? =)

Chris, let me put away all the sharp objects, in case any of them happen to puncture your inflated personality.

Posted by: Karl-T at June 29, 2004 09:33 PM

Chris,
Actually, as a God fearing Republican, I'm sure you know that it's the husbands of all those female delegates who have booked the parties so they can take their wife along and maybe, just maybe, get into a little "Republican Fun". It's that what you guys do now? Take the wife to the sex club for an evening of "entertainment"?

Posted by: GT at June 29, 2004 09:57 PM

Hey, who says it's a sexist view. Why can't Republican women flock to titty bars as well? :)
Or are lesbianism and Republicanism incompatable?

Thanks for staying on top of things Karl. But my personality is registering just fine. I realize I have struck a nerve, so I hope the twinge doesn't last too long.

The humor here is unmistakable. This story was too good to pass up. So good, it wasn't even noted that all these quotes come from madams and titty-club owners. =)

Nor was it noted that the influx of visitors to NYC won't all be male GOP delegates.

Nor was the quote included from Robyn Few, the same prostitute who claims that street-walking is safe behavior, where she says that those family-values conscious Democrats are frequenting call girls in droves. =)

Still waiting for anybody to stand up for the veracity of madams, hookers, and strip-club owners. Its only the entire basis of this "story".

Anybody got a response other than I'm a Christian, a Republican, and therefore I have an inflated personality? =)

Anybody?

Posted by: Chris at June 29, 2004 11:24 PM

No, we're stumped Chris.

Posted by: Karl-T at June 30, 2004 12:27 AM

Chris,

Just so there is no misunderstanding, are you insinuating that madames, hookers and strip-club owners are somehow have less charactor than "Christians" and Republicans? Please tell me this is your point. Open that door --- PLEASE!!!

Posted by: GT at June 30, 2004 11:18 AM

Actually, I am most definitively stating that strippers, hookers, and strip club owners have a history of not being entirely truthful with what they have to say.

For those doubters out there... to quote Chris Rock: "No matter what a stripper tells you, there is no sex in the champagne room. NONE." =)

Posted by: Chris at June 30, 2004 04:34 PM

Chris,
There is a saying that you would be wise to learn at 23 -- "People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones".
Let's take a look at some of the evidence:

Heidi Fleiss
Jeanette Maier
Tommie Taylor
Monica Rene Montemayor
Sydney Biddle Barrows
Tracy Quan

ALL famous madames/hookers, all refused to name any of their clients.

Now for the folks in the glass house:

Rep. Henry Hyde
• He claims to be the "conscience" of the House, but concealed his own affair
• He claims to champion "family values", but his affair with a married woman broke up her marriage.
• He claims to support "the rule of law", but testified as a "character" witness for the godfather of anti-abortion terrorism, Joseph Scheidler.

Rep. Bob Barr
• Married three times and embroiled in a messy court battle with his second wife over his failure to pay child support.

Rep. Dan Burton
• Burton was forced to return illegal contributions from Zaire's deposed dictator, Mobutu Sese Seko.
• While investigating Whitewater, Burton released tapes of Webster Hubbell - but edited out statements exonerating Hillary Clinton, for which he was forced to apologize.
• Burton was charged with defrauding the U.S. Government by keeping a no-show employee on his House staff, and misusing Congressional resources for campaign purposes
• Burton was forced to admit that he fathered an out-of-wedlock child, a fact he denied for years.

Rep. Helen Chenoweth
• In the 1998 campaign, after questioning her opponent's stand on moral issues, Chenoweth admitted to a six-year adulterous affair with a married associate.

Rep. Ken Calvert
• in 1993 he was caught by police receiving oral sex from a prostitute and attempted to flee the scene.

Bill McCartney
• Promise Keepers founder who didn't keep his Promise to his wife and then lied about it for 20 years!

John Rowland – This one is way to easy.

NOW - before you start talking about how "strippers, hookers, and strip club owners have a history of not being entirely truthful with what they have to say" - I would suggest that you take a look in your own backyard.

Summary:
There is no segment of society that has a lock on dishonesty. It pretty much seems to be distributed equally. So get off the high horse.

You left out Bill Clinton.

Wow. You must have spent a great deal of time writing that comment, when all you really wanted to say was contained in the last paragraph. I'm coming up on 15 seconds... now. =)

Posted by: Chris at June 30, 2004 09:02 PM

WOW to you. You couldn't try and make your point to me without once again pointing your finger of blame elsewhere. 10 seconds.
