Which is Worse?

By Byron LaMasters

Having to view BlogAds everyday? Or having to look at John Kerry everyday (see below BlogAds)? Well, we now are forcing our viewers do to both (sorry!). I would like to see which is preferable to our viewers, but I don't really have any appologies. I need some money, and John Kerry is our nominee (and Morris Meyer is a great candidate for Congress), and he deserves our support. As much as John Kerry is not my favorite choice for President, he's our nominee, and he has my full support.

It would be nice if there was a bigger gap between the writing and the ads...you literally can't avoid the ads because your text is practically on top of them.

On top of it, I should say.

The WORST thing is to feel obliged to apologize for John Kerry. If fundamentalists or fringe lefties don't like him, they can go elsewhere.

From a strictly technical viewpoint, I don't like horizontal scrolling.

I imagine the people complaining about the layout are using 800x600 resolution. At higher window sizes, it looks fine.

Maybe there is some way you could intersperse the ads horizontally between stories?

Keep the ads rotating; you get more bang for your buck that way. Also, you might want to anchor them further down the margin or at the bottom of the page. Most of the adds have motion in their graphics; really annoying while you’re trying to read. Of course, if you really REALLY want it look good, you’d take down the Kerry ad and put up a Bush/Cheney Ad ; )

Now there's a ringing endorsement :)

Of course, as a former Edwards supporter (still is...but you know what I mean) I agree John Edwards would have been much easier on the eye than JFK II if nothing else.

I'm not a big fan of the ads or John Kerry. I am especially against blog ads FEATURING John Kerry. I do find it humourous the ad says "John Kerry, The Real Deal." I think that has to be the irony of the century. The fakest candidate ever is the real deal?

Considering this blog has a lot of readers from Texas and many that are not democrats, are the ads going to be nation wide or just democrats or what. Becase in the end you may very well turn off some of the readership. Are republicans going to be able to advertise? This is the Burnt Orange Report and I know that we as writers are Dems, but you know, concerns concerns.
