Get your kicks.
Also, a thought to ponder - is the War in Iraq over? I noticed some other folks implying this, as in, "I haven't done that since the War in Iraq."
My feeling is that U.S. versus Saddam is sort of like (to use a football analogy)Texas versus Baylor. You know the game is over by the end of the first quarter -- but you've still got to sit through 3 more quarters during which you still risk injuries and the ever-so-remote possibility that they might just come back and beat you if you don't put up an effort.
OK, enough of my ramblings. Be free, wild spirits.

I guess it depends upon what one means by "the war in Iraq." Certainly the US versus Saddam Hussein is looking like the lopsided football matchup you mention. The current state of affairs in Iraq is looking to this observer like a version of "the tortoise and the hare" that involves a lot of bloodshed. I certainly hope that I am wrong, for the sake of the USA and our soldiers, but the British experience in Mesopatamia (WWI) and the Soviet experience in Afghanistan provide eerie parallels that are not heartening.
I'll admit, I was pre and post dating several threads this evening as I wanted to keep this thread at the top, but I wanted to add several items tonight (see below).
The war may be over because there is no longer an Iraqi army in any real sense. However, the conflict seems to linger on. I think I heard president Bush refer to the "end of hostilities in Iraq." That has definitely not occurred.
It is like a football game in which Baylor's players have run off the field to hide in the stands, making it extremely unlikely that they will win the game, but also unlikely that anyone will sack the quarterback.
