Amy Clark Meachum Pads Electoral Resume

After already having many endorsements from the Austin political community, 201st District Court candidate Amy Clark Meachum recently gained some important support from the local legal community. Batting for Meachum now are the Hispanic Bar Association of Austin and the Austin Black Lawyers Association.

Around the same time, the Meachum campaign released a video where Amy tells her story. She might sound a tad immodest, but I figure that anyone would need a bit of pretentiousness to take on a sitting judge. Give it a look.

A good self-promotion (0.00 / 0)

You have to toot your own horn to run for office, but you also need to avoid sounding arrogant or out of touch with ordinary people. The key to doing both is humor -- use the joke to connect with the audience, while using the raw material to impress them. Amy's video does a good job of this.

And I was looking for the worst of the video? but then, that's the greatness of Youtube. I was able to put the video up so that my judgement of it really doesn't matter - it's the viewers' that does.

Amy has been criticized for not having the requisite "experience" by those who aren't supporting her, so I think this video is the campaign saying that actually she does have the experience needed to be a great judge.
